So, I'm the director of player personnel for your D-League affiliate, the Iowa Energy, and we're having open tryouts at Southwestern College in Phoenix on October 5th. The tryouts start at 9am, and the cost will be $125 if you register in advance. So if you think you can play and want to give it a shot, feel free to sign up or ask me if you have any further questions.

If anyone from this board signs up, let me know. I plan on checking back with this board during the season if we get any of your players on assignment as well.

too bad I moved out of phx a month ago. The local ABA team held tryouts not too long ago, and I wanted to go. I would go to this, but I personally think the talent might be above my skill level at my age right now. Maybe 3-4 years ago might have been the right time. I know I would love to play again, but its not going to happen.

Lets see if maryvale who said the pickup ball in his town is good shows up. If anyone form the forum goes, let us know how it went.

Oh, whats the pay?

There are three salary levels in the D-League, but if you make the team off open tryouts you'll likely be signed to a C-level contract. 'C' players make somewhere between $3-4k a month plus an apartment and meals taken care of.

Not bad at all compared to a regular job.
