Are the Suns and the NBA will give Shaq a red carpet exit as with Michael Jordan in his last year?

http://rimshots.freedomblogging.com/200 ... the-scale/"The important news to Suns fans is that O’Neal has been, according to a Suns insider, “fairly diligent” with his off-season conditioning, and as of late August was only 8-10 pounds heavier that what the team would like to see him at by the Oct. 30 season opener in San Antonio."
If he knows he has only 2 years left, would it kill him to come into camp in the best shape of his life?

If lakers get Gasol for Brown's expiring contract imagine what we get for a 20mil shaq.
I'd guess Dwayne Wade + Beasley.
Now if only we can somehow we can waive a magic wand and make them as dumb as Memphis

Well, in 2010, Shaq becomes very valuable in terms of an expiring contract. Which amounts to $21 million. Probably the biggest expiring for that year. The Suns will have several options. Which is use Shaq's contract as a bargaining chip. For a fact, several teams want as many expiring contracts for that year for that offseason. Or the Suns will let Shaq expire to gain salary relief. And for that year both Nash and Bell are in their last year. I believe that the Suns will re-sign them IMO. So, Shaq's contract can be handy either way.

+1. Either we let him expire, or trade him for someone wants his expiring. Either option is a plus IMO.

The timing on the expiration of his contract is awesome and not only does it coincide with the huge FA market of that year, it coincides with the end of Steve Nash's window, too. Well played by Shaq, lol, not that anyone didn't see this coming. Why would he play longer than that?
It's getting to be time; he'll finish out his deal, hopefully help the Suns to a title (which would be awesome) and then he'll leave his playing days behind as gracefully as a behemoth of his dimensions can.
