Amare Visited Ankle Specialist Yesterday

Post#1 » by The Diesel » Thu Sep 25, 2008 2:04 am

Hey guys,

Paul Coro just reported that Amare was in L.A. yesterday visiting an ankle specialist for 90 minutes because he tweaked a previously sprained left ankle two weeks ago.

The specialist and Suns team physician agreed he only needs rest.

However, this will likely cause him to miss some of the scrimmages next week, but he will participate in all the non-contact work.

This is bad news; this team needs to play together as much as possible and let's just hope this injury doesn't linger.

A tweaked ankle is a non-issue at this time of year.

But the fact that he got hurt two weeks ago and had to visit a specialist just yesterday concerns me a lot.

The doctor prescription is usually madly overblown because these NBA players are getting paid millions. So if STAT tweaks and ankle and needs rests, to us normal people, it's probably nothing, but its all precautionary stuff they gotta do.

Here's the latest update:

- He suffered a second-degree ankle sprain while scrimmaging in late July.

- He aggravated the injury two weeks ago in a pick-up game against other Suns players.

- The team wants him to avoid two-a-day action and could miss the night scrimmages.

- Five days of practices begin next Tuesday.

That's the latest update regarding the injury.

This is not an issue in September.. it this happens in April it would be a issue, however I'm gald that it's his ankle and not one of his knees. Like The Diesel said, this was an ankle that got aggrivated not a big issue.

The big issue is that I saw a video in suns.com with Dragic in it. What I saw was concerning, Boris Diaw looks FAT! I don't know if its his hair dew or the angle of the camera but he looks overweight.. I'm wrong??

Don't get emotional buddy. This is not good and its not bad either. So what if he misses a few scrimages, to be honest I would prefer if Amare only practices and doesn't play all of pre season. He's our go to guy and we need this guy to go 82 games to give a chance at home court in the 1st round. No biggie, as confirmed by the best athletic trainer in the league, Aaron Nelson.

Caution is good; the last thing we need is for him to get a lingering mobility-related issue. RICE that sucker up and just kick back and watch some bad movies on TV or something; Amare knows how to play, as long as his basic role on offense is the same and he can keep watching tape to learn about defense.
