Police looking for amares brother

Police in central Florida are searching for Amare Stoudemire's older brother, Hazell Jr., in connection with a sexual assault, according to weekend media reports in the area.
Hazell Jr., 31 and a registered sexual offender, is being sought by Haines City, Fla., police for charges of sexual battery, kidnapping, aggravated assault and assault, according to The Ledger, a newspaper in Polk County, where Amare grew up.
The case involves a woman who was sexually battered in her home, kidnapped and then assaulted again in the assailant's home, according to the Tampa Tribune.
Stoudemire's younger half-brother, Marwan, was one of five men last year in connection with a Scottsdale robbery attempt that ended with the fatal shooting of a suspected drug dealer.
Just sad for amare that he has these family issues going on around him.
Tupac wrote a poem called "the rose that grew from the concrete" and it certainly is looking like amare embodies that. For a guy who has so much turmoil going on around him, he does such an amazing job of being focussed, ready and unaffected on the court by these obviously stressful things
something that to me at least, makes amare even more admirable

whilst the theory behind cutting them off completely makes sense, in practice it isnt that easy, especially when family is concerned
ive been through, (and am currently going through) the struggles of dealing with a family member who is damaging their lives, and the easiest thing would be to just let them go ahead and do it, especially when they reject all help and do so many things to make you want to give up, but unfortunately the family bond is strong and like it or not, it gets to you. sometimes, cutting them off is actually harder, and more stressful than trying to help so either way, the big man would have alot on his mind
its easy to see why he wants to do so much for the community etc

Thankfully Amare's making a ton of money and gonna live a long, prosperous life instead of going the other way making a ton of money and ending up dead by 30.

Amare is a man, and he should be concerned about his family. Their his blood. But BurningHeart brings up a good point. You have to cut the cord sometime or it will bring you down too. You just can't keep giving chance after chance after chance. I believe in second chances, but what point do you say wait a second, you can’t keep doing this, taking advantage of him and getting in trouble. You have to let justice prevail and learn their lesson or they will never change. His family is full of criminals. Its sad, but at some time, he can’t come to their rescue.
It may be tough love, but he might have to show it or they will bring him down after his nba career. He better be careful because he is walking a fine line.

Yep, he's done well so far but familial influence is VERY strong.
