Re: Suns Divided on Style of Play
The thing that's so underrated about MikeD but yet so important is how he can manage egos in the locker room. That's part of coach's job. Remember how Shawn was unhappy with this and that, but yet MikeD knew how to communicate with him to get him do what he wanted him to do. Remember how we have a bunch of veteran sitting on the bench but yet we didn't heard one bit of displeasure from them. How he gave confidence in LB and Boris and how he control Raja's temper...you know, communication skills and knowing your players, so they believe in you and you believe in them. We're missing that right now.

The 2005-06 Suns will always have a special place in my heart

i totally agree with porter..he's doing the right thing but he just need to tweak some in the offense.... im starting to hate nash and bell... dont blame your poor shooting to system.."I think there are times that they do want to get out and run, which I totally understand," Porter said. "I'm not stopping them from doing that. We just have to do it after getting a stop."

The poor shooting isn't a result of the occasional run-n-gun. It's when we play half-court sets and there's no motion up top when the ball is fed inside. Porter doesn't know how to use Shaq properly so he just puts him in the lane and that clogs up the lane for Amare. We need more movement from the shooters to get better spacing. Shaq is an excellent passer, but quite a few times, when he gets the double team he makes errant passes because the guys up top aren't sure where to go and such.
