I totally agree with this trade plus i think we need someone like Carter. Great for Suns and VC as both are in a win-now situation, good for NJ, as they are rebuilding and get three strong players that will thrive in NJ.
Nash Carter Barnes Amar'e Shaq = 2009 NBA CHAMPIONS
Works under the cap too, but any chance of happenning??

Leave out the 1st rounder and Lopez I might consider.

^ Exactly. We're getting hosed on the first trade proposal. Leave out Lopez and the 2009 first and it looks much better. Besides, Vince Carter and Boris Diaw have one thing in common - Some games they decide to play hard and show up and others they don't.

Totally agree. Leave out Lopez and I am with this trade. I thought we gave up our 2009 1st to Oklahoma City with KT anyway.

So when Shaq goes down we go with a kickbutt Amare/Admunsun starting frontcourt, and we're left with Hill as backup center and Tucker as backup PF, nice!

just going to repeat whatever one else said.
take out rob-lo and the 1st rounder and you got yourself a deal. actually it sounds real nice but i dont think there is any chance/rumors of that happening.

We can't trade the 09 first since we traded our 08 first. So change the 09 first to the 2012 first(the next first we can trade), take out Lopez and Dooling, and then we'll consider it.

Re: Suns fans opinion on this trade, VC goes to Phoenix
I posted this modification to the original trade idea on the trade board and wonder if it makes sense for Phx.
To the Suns: VC, Bargnani, Kapono, Graham, Ager for Hill, Bell, Barbosa, Diaw and Lopez
To the Nets: Diaw, Robin Lopez
To the Raps: Grant Hill, Raja Bell, Leandro Barbosa
Suns new starting roster: Shaq / Amare / Kapono / VC / Nash with Bargnani, Barnes, Graham, Singletary off the bench.
Raps could send the 2009 1st to NJ to sweeten if needed,

Re: Suns fans opinion on this trade, VC goes to Phoenix
I don’t know if VC is the guy we need on this team. Maybe it would be a good to put VC with a good PG in nash. But what I think we need is a guy that can play tough D, is a 3-pt specialist and does not need the ball that much to be affective. Im not sure VC is that guy. The last game he did hit 5 3ptrs.
The other issue about bringing in VC is that we become the Portland Trail blazers of the 2001’s. A lot of talent, old talent and could not get over the better, younger team that had speed and guys who knew their role. Nash, VC, Amare and shaq? To me, that looks like the 2004 LA lakers with that HOF lineup.
But maybe it is a risk we have to take. Especially with Bell not being consistent and our depth at SG is not that good. Diaw has played good, and barbs has not been around much due to his mother. It might be harsh to trade the kid after his mother just died.
Ok, to the trade. No way in hell we trade that much for VC. Leave out Lopez and Dooling and the first. If the nets want to get rid of his contract, then they should give us a 1st. If everything works out for us, I like this teams chance. But Im not holding my breath for things to WORK OUT for the suns.
Why yes for the trade. This gives us that last shot, last chance to make a run at it all. When all these vets are off the books, we still have Amare to build around and huge cap space. That might be tempting for the 2010 off-season why all these big contract guys are off the pay roll.
I will keep saying this, Dragic is not the answer for us. But maybe we do the trade to help this team out. Or we wait for a waived player.
This is how I see it, it if happened and we get lucky that everything falls into place.
Nash / Dragic / SingT
Carter / Bell / Tucker
Barnes / Hill
Amare / McDyess / Amundson
Shaq / Lopez
We would go through a big rebuilding process after this run was done. Would it be worth it to lose some younger pieces and not get a championship?

This team is already mentally soft, and has been for years.
No.

I think they are getting stonger with some of the new player.
Why would NJN want to do this trade? also, did you look at his contract?? Its like 40 mil or more the next 3 years. that is tooo much I think.

That's the thing though, if NJ wants to dump his salary, they wont trade for Barbo and Doris whose salaries run past 2010.

I would've rather done some type of Barbosa/Diaw swap for Richard Jefferson, not Vince Carter. This deal is never going to happen and rightfully so. We don't have the depth, Boris has been playing well, and Carter sucks.

I vehemently disagree. He's putting up 23-5-3 on 45% shooting. That's pretty darn good.

We should trade for that Matt Barnes guy, seems like a good fit

Vince is an excellent scorer, and is exactly what this team needs (to an extent). I think people tend to question his heart too much, and they are right to an extent, but he is still an excellent tea and individual player.
Plus, you cant play for Shaq, Nash and Amare and not want to play well for this team. Getting a guy like VInce only makes us more dangerous offensively. He is an excellent shooter who can create his own shot, and take it really hard to the rim (just needs to do this more often!).
I sincerely PRAY that we can get this guy, the NJ project is over, and Vince really needs something to play for.
