Suns adjustment: the offense

Post#1 » by nashill » Fri Nov 21, 2008 6:43 am

too many turnovers..but why? is it because they are not used to half court setup?

suns need to run?..but playoff games are won in a half court setup. then how?

trade nash and stats for Miller and Brand.

Shaq > Kaman
Shaq and Brand will make the suns to have the best frontline

1. Start Hill; him and Shaq gave great chemistry.

2. Stop giving Shaq so many touches.

Why is Porter trying to fix something that isn't broken?

I was looking forward to Amare building on his 29 PPG average after Shaq came to Phoenix, and now his scoring is down to 23 PPG.

The Shaq/Amare/Hill/Bell/Nash line-up won 15 of its last 20 games last year, but now Hill is coming off the bench and I think he should be starting.

ya, ghill will be better if he starts - maybe try barnes at the 2 spot and rest raja. he ain´t putting up numbers as he ususaly did. and trade for a real veteran back up pg. dragic / singletary is not working. our fo should see that.
and sign a veteran pf/c. robin is a good guy, but can´t deliever what we´re expecting.

someone like pj brown / antonio mcdyess could get some solid minutes with us..

mh, all in all i´m very dissapointed but know that the season is still young.
seems like another year without a title in the valley of the ´sun - damn.

Props to the great one

I totally understand offensively we weren't going to play like we did under D'Antoni, and that's expected. But Porter is totally breaking apart what we know and have proven to be successful. It's fine if he emphasis defense, our guys have shown they are willing to play defense, but why kill our O in the process? Shouldn't it be a give and take with a new coach coming into a successful ball club?

We should definitely look into a lineup of:
Shaq
Amare
Hill
Barnes
Nash

We have size with this lineup and still can play good defense.

Offensively, we have to stop dumping into Shaq on EVERY possession. The play is so obvious. We dump into Shaq, he half-posts up and waits for a cutter to come down the lane and in with the over the shoulder pass. That play is good on occasions but if we doing that every time, we going have problems.Shaq should still get touches to mix things up for the defender and let them know they can't leave Shaq. We should play around Shaq and use his fat ass to set screens for guys like Amare or Diaw when they come down the lane.
