People are such Nay Sayers and whiners on these boards the last 2 days since the JRich trade went down. I have been seeing people say they wouldn't appreciate a Suns championship if we won cause we wouldn't have Bell or Diaw hoisting that trophy up. If you say that, you are not a Suns fan. I can bet you anything those nay sayers would be all up in arms and happy if we won im sure. A lot of people are just shocked we got rid of Bell i'm thinking. But lets look at it...

We get rid of Bell, yes, he has a heart as big as a basketball and gives it his all. He has been with us since we got good when Nash got here. But like any aging player, he has been slumping. Ever since his calf tear he has been playing under-par and very unimpressive. Bell is also a cry baby and has been down ever since we didn't offer him a 3 year extension this summer. His morale has been down and you can tell...Both in his play and in his attitude on and off the court. So, as much as I love Bell, you all need to get over your Bromance with him and move on. Hes old and dwindling.

Everyone is still mad about Marion going to Miami. . . WHY?! Im sorry, but this year, Shaq has been phenomenal! Marion wanted to leave. If we did not trade him for someone, we would have lost him and got nothing for him, GET OVER IT! He WAS great in Phx and god do I miss him. But JRich will bring us a lot of Marion qualities minus the "Hey, I wanna be the man, cry cry cry".

I have seen lots of negativity surrounding JRich. . . Why? This guy is great. He has a great FG% and a GREAT 3pt %. So you're telling me that this guy can shoot a mid range jumper, shoot a 3 OR go to the lane and slam one down on your face? Where do I sign up? We essentially lose Bell, because well, to be frank, Boris SUCKED after he signed his contract. He is just a contract year player ala Tim Thomas.

Nash is going to get better with JRich. His assists are going to go up and some more running is going to happen. We are going to have a lot more opportunities to spread the floor when hes out there.

A lot more bandwagon fans are jumping off and its making me happy. Get off our wagon and go jump on LA or Boston plz. I heard some idiot on Gambo and Ash today and first thing he said was "I have been a Suns fan for the last 4 years" . . . Why even bother giving your opinion on the team then. You know nothing.

Also, this is coming from a die hard fan since I was 6 and now a 4 year season ticket holder. <3

Cliffs: Quit crying, JRich hasnt even played yet and a lot of people are dumb thinking Bell and Diaw were good players....

I don't see much negativity toward J-Rich. I simply feel as though he's being overvalued, but I think he's a great player and I'm glad we have him.

I agree, Bell had severely declined, but I'd much rather have a 5 million dollar 3pt shooter to spread the floor who already has great chemistry with Nash then a 13 million dollar guy who is going to need some time to gel.

I don't think Bell was up for an extension this year; he's up for an extension next year, so I don't feel as though that's a valid point.

Marion and Richardson aren't remotely similar players except for the fact that they're both athletic. They have differing strengths and weaknesses.

Whether or not Boris "sucked" after 05/06 is highly debatable. When we featured him in our offense(think the last two games of the playoffs), he flourished. When he played in place of Amare, he flourished. I can go on and on about Diaw, but I'd much rather direct you to this thread: http://boards.espn.go.com/boards/mb/mb? ... 733&lid=86 . Read it with an open mind; it might change your opinion about Diaw.

Sure J-Rich will bring back memories of Marion on the offensive end but by all accounts he is not a great defender, so really he is not like Marion at all.
Marion was just about our best defender (apart from maybe Raja).

I like J-Rich and I think he will be good but I also think we will miss Diaw & Raja more than we realise.

3rd. Diaw will not be missed. 1 good season is nothing. Its call consistency, something that JRich seems to have. We sucked at Defense before, we are still gonna suck, not a big deal.

Dont get me wrong, Marion had GREAT D, and it was good when he was here, but our D as of late sucks even worse. Bell as been doing horrible on D. JRich will do better than Bell D and O wise. I have Diaw like most, so thats why I hate him ... cause he eats french bread all day w/ Tony Parker !

It was the other way around I think. Lebron called him an idiot.

Barkley usually makes some good points. For example, when he ripped us apart the last time we played on TNT. If you want to see idiot analysts, turn on ESPN. Barkley's a genius compared to those guys.

I think Barkley looks at it and sees that even though a deal was made...we still did not address things we need. Its a lateral move as our weakness at back up PG still exists. W/o a solution to that situation, (among others) we remain questionable contenders.....

I say this as I am watching Bos/Wash and holding back my chunder every time Rondo has the ball.

Totally agree. Marc Jackson drives me nuts...he is Mr. Obvious and repeats himself the whole game. When him and Van Gundy start joking around I just want to throw something at the tv.
The guys in the studio can get even more annoying. It's hardly analysis anyway cos once you take out ads and updates about other sports, you are left with 60 seconds of actual analysis about the game you are watching.

Make it 30 seconds if Bill Walton starts reminiscing about his playing days...................

I have a lot of those pennants/cups/hats etc...got me a mouse for my laptop the other day. Can't take a lot of it when I come over, but will do my darndest to share the purple and orange...

This is going to sound psychotic, but my room used to covered wall-to-wall like that with Miami Dolphins gear as a youngster and teenager. They used to tear out my heart so many times that I would literally tear everything down in frustration and put it in bags until they proved to me they had some heart.

Eventually that kind of fanaticism had to take a back seat.
