So I was thinking why not go after a proven veteran that can still score 12-14ppg. Cassell isnt even playing for Boston and we get try getting him for a 2nd round pick or something. He will come in and do his job and help us as much as he can? What do you all think?

How come Cassell isn't playing? Is he buried in the bench or something?

Cassell expressed he doesn't want to play, he just wants to be on the bench so Doc Rivers can teach him how to coach a championship team. Cassell's career as a player is over.

Well, then here we go.
Barbosa + second for Stevenson + Crittenton.
Barbosa + tucker + second for Telfair + McCants + Smith
Barbosa for Charlie Bell + Tyronn Lue
Barbs + 2nd for Tinsley + Graham + McRoberts
Barbs + 2nd for Steve Francis + Carl Landry + Luther Head (or just Barbs for Francis + Landry / Head)
Other options:
Go after Pargo or Marbury.

lol, if he don't wanna play, what's the point of trying to bring him to PHX?

Exactly my point.

IIRC, he's not playing to save himself for the later portions of the season and the playoffs moreso than because he doesn't want to play anymore. And because he's learning from Doc, sure, but more the former than the latter.

I live in Boston and Sam has plans to join teh Celtics coaching staff. He was to become a coach but he is also insurance just in case someone like Eddie House goes down with and injury. Sam is going to play in a few games once the 2nd half comes just so he is fresh and has some games under his belts before the play-offs. So Sam Cassell would not be someone who would be traded to the Sun.

What a luxury it is to have a solid PG not playing now so he can "save himself" for the later portions of the season.
Maybe Dragic is "saving himself" for the later portions of the season to finally show that he can actually play.

Yeah, it's a huge luxury for the Celtics... they're like 21-2 and they don't even have Alien playing...
