A little update: Charlotte has completed physicals on the three former Suns. Richardson and Dudley are at USAC. All that makes it sound like it's more than likely that they will play against Orlando tonight.

I'm confused. Why did you put the Magic lineup down with Battie and Bogans? They don't start Battie, they start Pietrus and Bogans is a backup small forward who is also injured. . .

Also add Dudley to the bench for the Suns (you don't actually have to I just think he'll play  ). The Magic start 2 small forwards (Rashard = combo forward, Hedo = guard/forward) so I think that we'll get a chance to see why Kerr is so pumped on Dudley's defensive potential.

The Magic's starting lineup will likely be: Jameer Nelson, Keith Bogans, Hedo Turkoglu, Rashard Lewis, and Dwight Howard.

Also, the picture of Tony Battie that you posted is, in fact, actually Steve Francis 8-)

Here's to a good game, guys. Suns always play us tough.

Ah pardon me, I thought Bogans was injured but it's Pietrus. That's good for us 'cause Pietrus is better.

And I meant to mention the Francis thing. That's what threw me off at first.

What do you guys think of this:

From SUNS.com
http://www.nba.com/suns/news/tribune_081212.html
With Barnes, Leandro Barbosa, Dudley, Robin Lopez (and a veteran backup point guard to be named later) off the bench, the Suns are again destined to run. Built to score. They figure to excite - which shouldn't be discounted in a nasty economy that has translated to more and more empty seats at "sold-out" US Airways Center.

From the wiretap:
http://www.realgm.com/src_wiretap_archives/55952/20081212/marbury_reportedly_looking_out_west/
Disgruntled Knicks' point guard Stephon Marbury will head out for a vacation on the West Coast this weekend and admitted that he will talk with some teams.

He is also reportedly "talking to some teams" and "definitely looking out West."

I mean I'm sure they're refering to the obvious need of a veteran point guard, but how perfect is that?

That's what I was saying in the other thread. No other good team in the West can offer him the minutes the Suns can. Teams like the Blazers and Lakers won't want him anyway.

I've always loved Marbury. I've been a Suns can since birth, but what truely made me want to watch all 82 games every year was that Suns vs. Spurs series where Marbury hit the game winner.

I mean I was glad to see him go in favor of Nash, but if he can back at the minimum I would be estatic! Plus Barbosa could be shipped off for a PF/C.

I actually think if you added Marbury to that second unit it would allow Barbosa to go mental again and put up 18-20 per game...he needs a primarily ball handler alongside him a la Nash. Marbury's no Nash, but he's still in good shape and I think would be a very solid addition for the min, and he can play some SG if needed.

Not to mention you play him with

Shaq
Amare
Rich
Marbury
Nash

And then you can use Nash as a spot up shooter to shave some of that wear and tear off...

Wouldn't mind Marbury, either. He is probably the best option out there to fill the backup PG issue.

Sign him.
