Bell Asked for It

Post#1 » by Mr. Sun » Sat Dec 13, 2008 9:28 am

According to KTAR, Bell asked to be traded. Bell also asked for a 2 year extension over the summer.

Nash had no idea his buddy wanted to be traded?

I, for one, don't blame him. Porter is an idiot.

The players deserve most of the credit for the offense looking better recently because they're the ones who publicly complained about Porter's offense of just walking the ball up the court, passing it to Shaq every single time, and just standing around and watching him.

Oh, and the defense still sucks under him. Wasn't he supposed to improve it?

I'm glad that Hill is back in the starting line-up; I said all along that he should have been starting from Day 1.

Hmm... something about this doesn't sound right. Its not like Bell is gaining anything from being traded, if anything he is/was MORE valueavble to the Suns than most other teams, Bobcats included. Porter doesn't seem that unreasonable to me.

one word...ego. bell is no different than any other pro athlete who has a self inflated idea of how great they really are. guys like Bell and Marion are going to realize there value the next two summers when neither one of them gets the money they think they are worth.

Hard to believe he asked for a trade. Not doubting you or anyone else, but it just seems like he's losing more asking to be traded than staying in Phoenix. Now he has to move his family and pretty much start fresh which is hard when you're already over 30 (can't teach an old dog new tricks.)

If it would've been me, I would've stuck around and tried to do everything I can to get the offense working and stuff because this team is as much Amare and Nash's team as it is Raja's team.

Yes and D'antoni asked for Shaq too .. Kerr can't take responsability for his action apparently.

I don't know about the Bell asking to be traded bit. I sometimes wonder if management plants things in the media to cover their arses. Who knows though I guess.

it is hard to believe but maybe something like that had gone through his head and if anyone thinks like that its BELL

If this came out of Gambo's mouth, I really don't trust it. Last time he said that Sarver was operating in huge debt, then Forbes came out with that article showing that Phoenix was like the 2nd most profitable team in the league. I emailed it to Gambo and he emailed me back three words: "Forbes is wrong."

Yeah, Gambo, I'm really going to trust you over Forbes.

He never ASKED for a trade. He hinted at it and voiced his displeasure to Kerr multiple times. He was outright defiant to Porter during practices and games and that's just not going to work on an NBA team. He basically forced a trade without directly asking for it.

This is coming out from no where. Right, as if the trade can be justified emotionally. STFU Gambo, and if it's the Suns' FO who gave this BS to Gambo, they lost all my respect. How many more guys they had to run out of town and paint them evil/cancer? BS.

If I beat my mate all the time is he/she not reasonable to at least voice his/her displeasure and hint at leaving me? I just don't think it's Raja's fault. The trade is made, it's business, there's no reason for the Suns to come out to emphasis on certain things to justify the trade. By this logic Nash and Amare is forcing a trade too so are they going to trade them both too? This is just classless. It's obviously the coach's fault that he isn't coaching the right way but at the end it's the players that get punished.

Listen. Bell was lashing out in practice, complaining to the media about playing style and talking about he had "lost the passion, the chip on his shoulder."

Can you blame the Suns FO and media for wanting to make it clear that keeping Bell wasn't going to work. With all of the backlash about how Raja was the heart of this team, isn't it important to assure the masses that our so-called heart wasn't beating at the same rate?

At the end of the day it should've remained private, but you can't blame the people involved in wanting to justify their thinking when they are selling you a product.

Yes, everyone except for Shaq complained about the style to the media, even including Amare. And now the style is changed to be more fast paced even though Bell is no longer on the Suns. And the team has obviously been playing more effective basketball because of it. So it appears as though Bell was right to complain.

Ok, Bell wanted a trade back when Porter was having them to do a terrible slow down crap style that didn't benefit anyone on the team but Shaq. But did he still want a trade now that they've gone back to running? That's incredibly hard to believe.

And can you blame Raja for voicing his displeasure when Porter's coaching style obviously wasn't working. Is he the only guy who's unhappy with Porter's coaching? Is he not right about it? Nash and Amare has been vocal about it as well. Honestly, I anticipate them to be traded. If not this season, maybe next season. Everyone of JC's guy will be gone by 2010 anyway.

At the end of the day it should've remained private, but you can't blame the people involved in wanting to justify their thinking when they are selling you a product.

They can emphasis on certain things to justify all their moves including selling draft picks and dumping KT's contract, but at the end that won't change the fact that those moves are horrible basketball moves (not saying this JRich trade is horrible tho).

It's weird...I really miss Boris too, but strangely it's Raja in another jersey that just strikes me as effing wrong.

Yeah, it's definitely tough to see them in another uniform. It's just sad to see it come to this.
