If we were to trade Nash..

First of all, I'd never look at this team the same again. I doubt this ever happens, but what kind of deals would you guys prefer for a guy like Nash. Salary dump? Young Talent? Just a shake-up type move? Picks?

I was fooling around with the ESPN trade machine and came up with some of these.

Baron Davis + DeAndre Jordan + Jason Hart for Nash + Tucker

Kirk Hinrich + Thabo + Thomas for Nash + Tucker (They only do it to get out of Hinrich's contract and gain 2010 cap space, and a better mentor for Derek Rose)

Fernandez + Bayless + LaFrentz + Outlaw + Blake for Nash + Tucker + Barbosa + Second round pick

There were others including deal's for Andre Miller or such, but personally, I think the only 2 deals I'd even think about are the first two. Yeah, they kill our 2010 plan a bit, but think, we've already kinda killed it by getting in J-Rich, if we bring in another steady star to play here already, we wouldn't have to worry about Amar'e bolting. Sign him to a max contract, give a guy like Mike Miller a decent contract, (after you make the first deal) and look what you have in 2010.

Davis/Dragic/whoever
J-Rich/Barbosa
Miller/Dudley
Stat/whoever
RoLo/Whoever

not a bad team, although we would lack depth unless we sign guys to minimum contracts (if Shaq wants to play bring him off the bench, Nash)

Adding Baron Davis would be a set back and DeAndre Jordan appears to be nothing.

Also, there was never a 'plan' for 2010. We don't have a shot in hell to lure in the big names from that free agent class and never have had a shot.

I don't agree with you at all. Davis can produce still, on a good team or bad, and he can actually defend. His contract is only for 4 more years too, and only 2 after 2010. Jordan is a mere filler, could be a good backup PF/C.

Only 4 more years and he's almost 30 already..He's making 11 mil this year and it slowly increases up to 14 million by 2012/13, and he will definitely not be any where near worth that much. He's not even worth that 11 million anymore.

He's shooting 37% from the field and 29% from 3 and a good portion of his shots are the 3 ball, and that's horrific.

PASS.

Lol, do you understand that we're going to try and run more, meaning he's perfect for us? Even with such horrific percentages, he's getting nearly 19 PPG, not to mention 9 assists and 2 steals a game. If he's not worth 11million to you, then you need to go get yourself checked out. He's 30, Nash is 36. 4 years he'll be 34, and if Nash is producing what he is at 36 after those nagging back problems, hell Baron can too, at THIRTY FOUR. Trust me, his contract isn't bad at all. I'm not saying I would do this trade, but I'd certainly look into it. Gives us a better chance at keeping Stoudemire and continuing to contend than to let Nash expire and not receive anything in return (we would have cap space, but whats the guarantee someone signs with us?)

I actually like that Nash to the Clippers deal, bringing in Baron would improve chemistry (he was teamates with J-Rich and Barnes on the Warriors) and getting a back up pg in Hart and a project in Jordan who has alot of potential would be a great deal.

If this deal goes down though the Suns should just have Shaq suit up or trade him, his contract expires in 2010 I'm sure the Suns can get something.

C-Lopez
PF-Amare
SF-Barnes
SG-J-Rich
PG-Davis

Why the hell would the clippers do that deal?

They just signed Davis, you think they want an older, slower, whiter version of him?

The chicago deal is the most logical but you'd have to figure out if Del Negro is willing to bench Rose for Nash.

Or try this bad boy out.

3 PG's? Slow down there.

Calderon would be good enough.

No need to deal Nash.... we will ride out the closing of his window, which, IMO, will be this yr. Nash will then find a team to sign him for 2 yrs, and we will deal him for a future draft pick. I would guess NY because of obvious ties to D'Ant and I think Nash has an apartment there. It is the decent thing to do....and one of the few teams/systems he can play effectively in.

Nash signs a 2 yr very reasonable deal w/ NY ..... NY gives us a 2010 #1.... Phnx frees up 13 + million smackers ... everyone is happy

sorry to ruin the surprise

How about...

Blake/Bayless/Frye for Nash

You guys don't take on any extra salary, get a capable guy to run an offense (unselfishly) who can shoot in Blake, an awesome young local prospect in Bayless (who'd actually get time there), and a local big who can stretch the floor in Frye.

Why would we want Bayless when we already have the 2nd best PG from that draft class in Dragic?

Because they know it was a mistake signing him? Baron is not happy with the situation either, and him and Dunleavy have grown apart from day one. They'd be happy to dump his contract and create cap space, especially in 2010.

Agreed with Frank on the NY situation. If Nash were to leave, I'd appreciate the franchise for sending him to NY.

If we did send Nash to Portland, Fernandez would be a requirement in return.

Nash to GS for Crawford/Azubuike.

But seriously, if he were to buy in the new direction of the team and play more off the ball like he did in the win vs Denver and more, then he can be an adequate defender a la Stockton while maintaining his deadly clutch shooting with more energy. Then, no way we want to trade him anywhere. But if he continued with pouting over the strategy, then any deal would be a good deal.

I would keep him until he asked to be traded. Or, I would approach him and ask him what he wanted, if he wanted to finish his contract out, if he wanted to resign. show him some respect ya know. If I traded him, I would want a solid prospect(s) back and at least a 1st rd pick. They dude still can ball.
