Is J-Rich in the Suns future plans?

Post#1 » by MaryvalesFinest » Mon Dec 22, 2008 12:18 am

Do you think getting J-Rich was just a move to get rid of Diaw and Bell or do you think Suns management actually wanted J-Rich and he's in the Suns future plans?

His contract expires in 2011, do you think the Suns are going to resign him or let him walk or trade him before than?

I don't think he is. After 2010 when the vets have either expired or leaving for FA, I think Kerr would rebuild a team with not only defensive minded players, but get guys who can actually play defense. J-Rich will likely be the expiring vet that would keep our offense going after 2010 and we'll probably trade him for pieces with his expiring contract.

I don't believe guys like Amare, Nash, Hill or Shaq coming back after 2010 . . . .

Yeah that's probally going to be the case, it's either going to be cleaning house or the Suns are going to try to work with that core. The reason the Suns started running again was because they brought in J-Rich and plus 90% of the Suns players fit the run and gun mold, Kerr realised that and he knows until the Suns get knew players the Suns will almost have to run.

So if the Suns are planning on running again maybe the Suns will sign Amare and try to build around a Amare and J-Rich core (I doubt it though), I can see Nash comming back also, he said he wanted to play another two years up until 2012. This wouldn't be a very good idea though, J-Rich is a great player but he's no Steve Nash in reguards to making his other teamates better, his Warriors and Bobcats teams were in the lottery.

Or if the Suns want to clean house I can see them trading Amare for defensive pieces, letting Nash walk and he probally goes to the Raptors or Knicks. Trading J-Rich for defensive pieces or just letting him walk. Reguardless it looks like Hill is going to retire soon maybe in 2010 and Shaq is probally going to retire or back back to the Lakers for vets minimum.

I think he COULD be in the plans. He could be resigned same year as Amar'e, meaning we could lock up 2 solid stars to contracts. Now, if we give Amar'e 6 years at max, then we give J-RIch 5, and get a solid 3rd wheel guy like Mike Miller, but I think we'd be going for a PG or C before we go for a SF.

To tell you the truth. I really dont see any body in our plans. lol. The way things are going.

Although Amare is playing more for the win now instead of numbers. I dont think he wants to be here.

I say they are all gone after contracts are up.
