Another Trade Proposal

Post#1 » by ray ray » Mon Dec 29, 2008 8:33 pm

I know that eveytime we look into this forum theirs a new trade poroposal. We can all agree that Leandro Barbosa has been an intrugal part of the Suns teams but he is not a pure shooter . Barbosa can be very explosive in the offensive side of the ball but is a very one dimensional player. At one time or other we have asked ourselves if we are to trade Barbosa , what type of value can we get for him.

The Suns needs is to have a back up point guard, but we ain't going to get with trading Barbosa. If you can compare players, Devin Harris and Leandro Barbosa got drafted about the same time. While Devin Harris has blossom this year we have seen Barbosa be the same player that he has been for years. We have to take into consideration that he has had a bad year with his mother dying and him missing training camp and the pre season. I love Barbosa quickness and especially when he gets on Fire and can basically take over games with his speed and quickness. But come playoffs time, he is non-exist and is a Marionesque type of player without the defense.

So I introduce this trade that can help both teams and makes the Suns solid with this trade.

Suns trade:
Leandro Barbosa
Goran Dragic
Alando Tucker

Timberwolves trade:
Mike Miller
Rodney Carney

Suns Lineup:
Steve Nash
Jason Richardson
Mike Miller
Amare Stoudimare
Shaq

Reserves:
Grant Hill
Matt Barnes
Rodney Carney
Loius Amudson
Robin Lopez

We loose that scoring punch from our bench with Barbosa but we can spread the the floor for Amare and Shaq even more. Rodney Carney is a very athletic small foward who can help with the suns become more of a running team when the second unit comes in. Grant Hil and Mike Miller become the Suns premier ball handlers when Steve Nash is resting. They both have played point guard at some time in the carrer.

Yourt thought??

so we have mike miller, matt barnes, ghill, j-rich and carney to fight for 48 minutes of playing time??
if we trade barbs i would love to see a real back up for nash, someone like hinrich who can take over if nash will retire. also i would love to see someone like joe smith in here, he is now in a stage of his career where he can easily play behind amare and won´t complain bout playing time. he also could play when shaq is sitting. that would of course cut some time from sweet lou and rolo. but we´re all about winning - and we won´t win with rolo backing up shaq in the playoffs.

for youre trade, i love mike miller, but not right now.

Props to the great one

Would've liked this if we kept Bell + Diaw, but now it's useless. Could be perfected to net us Telfair, though.

Now that the Suns got J-Rich they don't really need any more scoring, also Mike Miller went quite a bit downhill this season.

Now a trade with the Wolves that might work could be something like Barbosa for Sebastian Telfiar and Chris Richards. Telfair may be small for his size but he's a solid defender and can do a decent job of scoring and handing out assists, Richards would be a big that can grab rebounds and defend.

Yeah, his rights belong to the Wolves though so they can call him up and trade him.

I thought this was going to be a trade for Devin Harris. If it was, I'd be all over it. Mike Miller...not so much. Barbosa hasn't hit his prime yet, while it appears Miller is on the decline. Not a big fan of Carney either..watched him throughout college and his first 2 years as a Sixer. Defense is mediocre in the NBA, despite having good college stats. He takes questionable shots, and kills ball movement quite often.

We do not need any more 3's. If we're to trade barbs it should be for a vet. point guard. Maybe a true power forward but we definetly need a PG before anything else...

I say if we send Barbie out we need either a legit backup PG or a long term answer for Shaq replacement if Porter is gonna refuse to develop RoLo.

pretty much agree with this whole response. Love Mike Millers game but we would need a PG backup not another wing player
