Good Nash invu/NBC

via the Huffington Post, video excerpts from what seems to be a 45-min invu with Nash. Talks about a number of things, including New York. Not sure if this full invu has aired yet on broadcast tv.
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/graham-be ... 53860.htmlInteresting that he doesn't use the standard "I'm a PHX Sun and want to remain one" - he's quite candid that both NY and TO are appealing and that he's lucky to have these options.
I get the feeling that his heart isn't really in PHX anymore.
Also, an opportunity to hear a professional athlete use the words "presumptuous", "manifest" and commonality" in conversation.

http://www.azcentral.com/sports/suns/ar ... sh-CR.htmlWell, looks like Nash is half way out the door already, he could have easily said let's wait and see when that time comes but he goes on and names a couple teams. Also it sounds like he's concerned about money by talking about the salary cap space, Nash needs to realize he's going to be 36 going on 37 and he expects a hefty pay day?
Maybe it's time to do a rebuild and trade both Nash and Amare?

He was answering questions, not making a statement. Also, wasn't there a thread on this a few days ago?

I hope Suns management is paying attention to everything that's happening, Nash hasn't been a happy camper lately and making these comments is a kick in the face to the Suns, talking about "possibly" going to other teams already, I'm a Suns fan before a Nash fan so I say if he wants to act like that ship him out of Phoenix. As another poster brought up earlier that Nash for Baron Davis swap looks great, that would be awesome to watch J-Rich, Barnes and Davis back together and a Amare-Shaq frontcourt (pending on if Amare gets traded or not).

If he was asked a question about 2010 why couldnt he say that he's looking to explore all options and doesn't know what's going to happen instead of naming certain teams?

Because unlike other athletes, his vocabulary goes beyond sports cliches.

Yeah exactly, the naming other teams and talking about the salary cap already shows his true colors. The funny thing is as much as I would love that Davis and Nash swap I doubt the Clips would even consider with the way Nash is acting, not playing defense, causing turnovers, etc. I used to love the guy but this year he's almost as much as a headcase as Amare, i'd be happy if the Suns could get anyone that plays defense for Nash at this point.

Nash is no different than most other athletes, he's only concerned about money and fame. He brags up NY saying who wouldn't want to play for the NBA mecca or Toronto saying it would be a dream to go play for his native Canada.
Now if Nash on the other hand said, 2010 is a long way away, and I'm not sure what will happen that would have been fine but saying he wouldn't mind playing for other teams while he's still under contract playing for the Suns is kind of sad...

If anyone DIDNT think New York and Toronto were his obvious backup plans you were kidding yourself.
Who really would blame him for wanting to go to NY or Canada for his last contract? He stated twice that Phoenix is his obvious choice. Dont be selfish and demand exclusivity from a foreign born MVP that wants to play where he wants to live after retirement.
In fact, the last few trade scenarios Ive done with Nash, the only two destinations I move him two are Toronto and NY.
He said nothing alarming at all.

That's the whole point, why cant Nash keep where he wants to play to himself until the summer of 2010? At least Amare never said, "Oh I want to look into playing for this team in 2010", maybe it's Nash that needs to go and not Amare.

I think Nash deserves better than what all you haters are saying.
But for arguments sake, who cares what he says about 2010... who will be under contract by then?
Barnes gone 2009
Hill gone 2009
Shaq FA 2010
Amare player option 2010
you'll have barbosa, jason richardson and a bunch of 3rd year players.
I don't think his words should be offending to anyone at all. You can't even compare this to LeBron situation.

Nash will be in serious decline by that point but coming off the bench in limited minutes in an uptempo offense he would be a useful back up PG.
I seriously don't see him sticking around here after his contract is up because the makeup of the team is different now and he seems to have a hard time gelling on the offensive side, he has a hard time it seems passing into the post and a lot of his passes end up becoming turnovers.

I don't see him here next yr.
The free Agency hype for 2010 has begun. The media can't wait....and even the players are getting giddy. Nash's comments are disappointing to hear publicly. Usually he is a PR ambassador... but perhaps it is common talk with in the locker room... so who really gives an F.
Accomadate him in the off season.

That's just funny. Not even a head case.
I like how a few of us are conveniently leaving out the part where he says Phoenix is his OBVIOUS first choice. Who cares if he names other teams? As a previous poster poster already stated, I think all of with any sense already knew he would look at those cities anyway. Trade Nash, Trade Amar'e, Shaq is fat.......blah blah blah. If it was up to some of the people in this forumn we would just trade everybody until we go 82-0. In case we haven't noticed, this team is actually looking like they are gelling, Amar'e has (other than his foul out and ejection) been posting 20/10 games for about the last 10 at least, and Shaq is playing like he wants a Championship and when he does that it usually gets results. So let's pump the brakes on the Sky is falling garbage and enjoy the ride this year. Peace, I'm out

Trade him asap!! I'm getting annoy by his comments, why couldn't he just say " We will wait and see what happens in 2010.".... We all know that he is good as gone, so why don't we get some value for him? Baron Davis would be a dream, but I doubt that the Clippers would do that trade unless we include Amare and we get Marcus Camby back..
In the past I would Steve Nash a pass but his comments of late are starting to ware off on me. I'm a Suns fan before I'm a Steve Nash fan!!
Trade for Baron Davis!!!!

baron Davis is not a good fit for this team. The Suns FO would be insane to give up Amar'e for the likes of BDiddy and Camby. With Baron here there would be a lot of complaining over the ball. He is a chucker.......That said I do like his game, just not a good fit here. Nashs' comments are totally harmless.

I'm done with Nash. I said it before and I'll say it again, he's becoming washed up and making the comments all these uneducated idiots make. I don't even see this as overreacting, because I've always seen Nash as a class act and honestly, at this point he's the biggest cancer in the locker room.
