Frankstradamus Returns......

It appears to me , our front orfice is not quite done with the final run roster. I have also noticed minimal playing time for Tucker and Dudley....
It is my contention , one of these players will be involved in a trade with Memphis for Quinton Ross. Ross cannot be dealt until the 15th. We went after him last yr with no success. Why we did not sign him in the off season boggles me. Perhaps the lovefog from Dragic lingered. Tucker and Dudley are redundant with other players we have.
Memphis has a load of other PGs... but only Ross and Francis cannot be traded till the 15th. DeeBrown will be given another 10 day deal, which should put us close to the 15th. Phnx will sacrifice one of these youngsters in order to get one more valid chance before complete disembowelment this off season.
Something will happen. We can't be done.

Pretty good prediction, and Ross is a pesky defender. Wouldn't mind him backing up Nash

^Ross can be traded now...it was Dec 15 he couldn't be moved before
Tucker for Ross I'd do without hesitation
I still think they're after a vet PG way before they target another swingman

And if we do get Ross somehow, prepare for him to be called Moncreif II as Kerr etc embellish a guy who was good enough to secure the min from Memphis....He's a good defender and can sometimes hit the side of a barn on the odd occasion. Which makes him a perfect fit for our second unit.

Dee Brown isn't on a 10 day right now...he's on a non-guaranteed one year contract though so he can be released at any time. Just a little FYI.
I'd MUCH rather have Brown that Q Ross though...so I'm not sure why they would bother with Q.

Ross has been getting decent playing time with Memphis, why would they move him?
And he is much more SG than PG.

yeah definitely a SG/SF rather than a PG. I don't think I've ever seen him play PG
I'd offer
Barbosa
Tucker
2nd rounder
for
Jaric (he CAN be a useful player, and his deal isn't that bad, 2 years left)
Lowry
Ross

I'd ask for Conley, but couldn't see MEM giving up on him that quickly...
Barbosa if he is traded...I dunno, I don't see anyone overpaying to get him apart from maybe D'Antoni in NY...

ross would be seen as a defensive presence we lost when bell went
tho i dont see anything happening at all
i think dee browns contract is non guaranteed so we can be a player in the free agent market for any bought out players (marbury tinsley etc)
but i dont see any trade with the grizz happenin

--- Just so everyone can start "09 with a laugh, or several, perhaps accompanied by a choking fit and coffee/coke/whatever up the nose - I'd like to see A Morrison end up here. I have a weird enthusiasm for the guy. I saw him get some decent PT in a Bobcats game and he has some real skills.
No, defense isn't one of them.

Ross is getting plenty of burn in Memphis, I can't see him leaving unless the Suns deal a very sweet offer.
But very good thinking with regards to Tucker & Dudley - Kerr said he was very high on Dudley's skills, so something makes me think he won't be moved - Tucker on the other hand I can see going, but he doesn't really hold much value at the moment.
Maybe Barbosa & Tucker for a SG & another GF who can play some decent defense - Lowry or Conley could be options, but I wouldn't want either if we're giving up Barbosa.

Tuckers problem is barbosa. I think the guy can be a decent backup, but just has not had the chance due to injuries or time. That’s why I think we have to move barbosa for a reliable backup PG.
Tucker was a solid player in college and has the fundamentals. His outside shot was in question, but he has IMO improve that over the past two years. Barbosa is good spark off the bench for us. But he is inconsistent and is a better player in a running system.
Like I have said a million times, I think Nash will be gone in 2010, we need a solid PG now, and I think that is Kirk Hinrich. We just don’t have the right pieces to get him. That is why I would wait to see what the bulls do with Gordon and if there is a chance we can get hinrich in a deal. But, im dreaming of course. Won’t happen with Sarver and Kerr as the two headed monster.

Y'all are probably right about Ross.... for some reason (likely related to the 1970's) I thought he could play some PG. Still , there are not but a few teams that have a log jam at point. I gotta believe we have not pulled a trigger yet due to the restrictions placed upon some players' ability to be traded. Come the 15th, (isn't that the day ???) when everyone is fair game, we will see.
As far as Barbososo... I gotta think the acquisition of JRich has made him the most expendabe Sun. Barnes made Bell a luxury, and it didn't take but a few negative 'Clangs' to send him packing. With all the good Barbo brings, he remains a one dimensional chucker. You still have to give to get. And correct me if I am wrong....this season is the all or nothing round....(especially with Nash's subtle nudging to be dealt).
Would it be so GD awful to get a guy like Jaric ??? If it means fattening up our slim chance ? He certainly fits the stlye/system that Kerr-Laid and Porter are seeking, more so than the Brazilian Blurb.
PS...I am all for Hinrich...but as Eastside says...don't think the pieces are there w/o peddling Amare. Lets save that for the offseason and draft day (shudder-shake-almost puke)

--- I know, I know. And he doesn't even have the hair anymore.
Earlier we could have used him for our All-Bad Hair Squad, with Sweet Lou's ponytail and Diaw's 'fro.
Seriously, I'm on board for M Williams. Kid can ball. No shooter, but lots of other good things and lots of guiys have learned to shoot after they got into the league. In a way, I kind of like guys that had to learn the rest of the game first.
Then there's Amar'e ... learned to shoot and forgot anything else. Naw, that's maybe too harsh. But geez - if he ever stepped up with some D he would one of the great ones.

--- Given that we've already dismantled SSOL, trading barbs makes sense. His - I'd call it a skill set but he really only has the one skill - game is so limited he's really superfluous now. His contract is good value and someone will want him. GS or the Knicks, but the Knicks have nothing we want outside Chandler or Lee. Chandler they love and Lee would be a rental, much as I love his heart and hustle.
So GS is our best bet, I reckon. How about Barbs and Dudley for one of their young wings and Williams?
I agree with Frank - this is do or die.
You know the quantum mechanics/physics thing, an infinite number of alternate worlds spun off from each possible decision? Somewhere in the multiverse there's a PHX team with Rondo, Deng, Fernandez and Rodriguez, and what do you want to bet that in that world Amar'e can play defense?
Oh, and we still have Shawn, he's not deluded about his value in the marketplace and Sarver doesn't care about anything but winning
