We should have moved Marion and Barbosa for Camby and Smith last season

I love Camby's game, but he's what 33? Another aging big man...pass

Man I think he'd be close to All Star if Melo went down for a long stretch...He even plays some backup PG for them. I don't see why DEN would do any deal giving him away at the moment, he's on a good contract and IMO is better than Barbosa and has a higher ceiling

Still...he takes some of the DUMBEST shots I've ever seen, can see why Karl gets pissed with him

Camby lacks anything even remotely resembling power. He is a dictionary definition of Center.

We have decent way of using him and no legit means of getting him.

camby doesn't lack power forward skills!

he has a good 15 foot jump shot. one of the best passing big man. can rebound and is great weak side and one on one defender...hes every bit better then amare except not as good of range on his shot.

He has no post skills or face up skills. His offense consists of putbacks and jumpers when his defender doesnt come out for a pick. He doesn't make plays but can pass well. He is a great rebounder, defender, and shot blocker.

In other words, not what you would want out of a power forward, everything you look for in a center.

No chance we would've gotten Camby last year or Smith either. Camby was only a year removed from being named DPOY. Smith shoots a lot of questionable shots but in terms of potential, I think it's much higher than Barbs would ever be.

When there were rumors about a Shaq-Marion trade last season, I thought we could've moved Marion for a better player than Shaq. Camby was one of the players I had wanted, but kinda knew they wouldn't trade him for Marion.

Problem now is that, a front court of Camby and Shaq just wouldn't work. Camby has almost no range, except for a semi-reliable 15ft'er.

That's the key. We don't need another big close to retirement.

One of the ugliest I ave ever seen, and it is not nearly as consistant as Amar'e.

Moving Amar'e for Camby would be the Best thing the Clippers have done since they aquired Brand.

HORRIBLE TRADE IDEA godofsuns. camby for amare??? are you stupid or just crazy? I live in Denver and have watched camby play.

Smith has the tools to be a good player that may get to an all star game, but the guy is a head case, is immature (more so then amare) and takes bad shots. He comes and goes at times and a streaky shooter.

Camby is old and is hurt a lot. Most of his career the guy has not be healthy for a full season. We need young legs, not old ones that break down. We already have too much of that.

camby's outside shot is not that great. Amare hands down has a better mid range J then he does. He is a good weak side defender and rebounded, but for Amare???? man

one. i wouldn't be worried about cambys health...do to are training staff... and two. I'm not saying trade amare for camby strait up...i wouldn't touch the idea if a. we didn't get one of there young prospects(gordon)or b. if there's wasn't a draft pick involved. so it would be amare for camby, gordon and a 1st rounder.

I've always thought getting rid of amare would be the stupidest move this FO could do, which says a lot. But for Camby? Sure Gordon and a first but if we give up amare and don't get a power post player my money is on not even making the playoffs.

What's with all the man-love for Camby? He's all stats, no impact. The defensive equiv. of Zach Randolph.

Clip fan here. Sorry but I have to disagree. Having seen Camby over the last 30 games I am really impressed. He's far better than any of us thought he would be. He's extremely active, a great defender and rebounder, and he's playing like a youngster again. Actually better than that, cause he always used to be hurt.

The one thing he isn't good at is that 15 - 18 footer he's supposedly known for. Everyone talks about it being his shot but it never goes in, never. He is great around the basket though, tons of put backs or little lay-ins. Our best player this year without a doubt, which isn't saying much.

As old as he is, he looks like he could play another 5 years. And he's doing it on a losing team.

That still is no where near the value of Amare, even with Eric Gordon and a 1st. Amare is an animal and you should keep him at all costs.

The only reason people are even considering moving him is they are paranoid he will leave come 2010. I'm not as convinced, but I guess we will have to wait until then to see it. If he doesn't sign his max extension this summer I will be more convinced he is leaving.
