RealGM

I have a great firewall so it blocked it but when I was on the forum main page about to the click on the Suns forums stuff was starting to automatically download in the bottom of the screen, than my virus protection thing came up and said

"HTTP Malicious Toolkit Variant Activity 2" Via RealGM

Did this happen to anyone else?

Also if you read this and don't have virus protection beware.

Wow, that's wild...I would be really surprised if RGM had this? Could it be a preexisting virus or malware that you already had? I'm sure you're familiar but those things are mean and they hijack your browser so that no matter what site you go to it starts downloading crap. If this is true we need to notify RGM immediately.

It could be, I'm no comp expert but it happened on the main page of the forums where the teams were listed.

Mary can you get a screendump and let the board know what virus scanning you're using etc?

actually I've gotten virus warnings in the past from this site too though not so much lately. Could it be some kind of active x virus?

Looks like it's using IE, are you using that or Mozilla?
I'm using mozilla and have AVG, CCleaner and Ad-Aware and haven't had any issues. I'd suggest having a look at the first thread, there's some helpful stuff in there

I got the same thing one year ago (but did not get it this time) : Link to the topic.

It seems to depend more of the advertising of the page, than the website itself, and as we don't get all the same advertising, it's hard to find lots of people with the same problem.

Apples have viruses just like Linux and PC's have viruses. In fact Apple had to release more patches this year than MS did for Vista.

BTW if you are talking about how sometimes an add comes up over the screen that is up, then yes it happens to me too.

And has since before I made the wisecrack, so rest assured it isn't because of that.
