Sports in North Carolina
by Miklo, Sunday January whatever 2009
CHARLOTTE, NC - The state of North Carolina as a whole just got a little bit worse around 11:30 ET last night. North Carolina, heavily fueled by college basketball rivalries, has decided to stick to the college arena. In what could possibly be the worst performance by any quarterback ever in the history of middle school, high school, college or professional basketball, including NFL Europe and all minor leagues ever invented, Jake Delhomme screwed the entire populations of both North and South Carolina over forever. Ever since John Kasay missed a field goal to lose the Superbowl to the friggin Patriots a few years ago, Pathers fans the world (North Carolina) over have had a chip on their shoulder. Last night, the body of fans had to get an entire shoulder replacement surgery. 5 picks and a fumble were actually higher than most North Carolinians could count, alleviating some of the pain created by their "star" quarterback.
Combined with the running-out of the Charlotte Hornets, the "great" "success" "of" "the" new Charlotte Bobcats tops off what could be the most powerful professional sports tandem in the world, possibly the universe.
There are reportedly talks of changing the state's tagline from "First in Flight" to "Where professional athletes' careers go to get brutally beaten before a slow, painful death".
