Trade Deadline / Waived Players Thread

Post#1 » by MaryvalesFinest » Mon Jan 5, 2009 6:58 pm

Warriors just waived him as said in wiretap

He has alot of potential and would be a better option than Dee Brown anyway, Kerr should go after him what do you guys think?

Yeah I wouldn't mind if the Suns signed him and waived Dee Brown, he could turn out to be a surprise.

^Meh, he can play point guard. 6'4 with decent athleticism...Don't know if he's a major upgrade over Brown

I'd sooner look at dangling Tucker + a 2nd rounder for someone like Jarret Jack or Keyon Dooling

I would go for Jack or Dooling...

I would obviously love to get another Dukie, but I watched 95% of DeMarcus' college games either in person or on TV and can assure you he isn't a playmaker (or a shooter by the way). The only reason I would recommend signing him would be to get a slightly undersized cutter and fairly good defender. We'd have to put him in to defend when we had Hill or someone making plays.

Don't let Jack's recent game against NYK fool you; he's not the answer.

More players waived...

Looks like Fred Jones and Paul Davis were waived also, should the Suns go after one of them?

They could always use another big and even though Jones is a SG he would be a better fit than Dee Brown probally.

Fred Jones ftw, dude has been criminally underrated for quite some time.

^Agreed. TERRIBLE slam dunk champ, but I'd really like him here as someone with some athleticism, slashing ability and decent size if he plays some 1

Yeah, krac36 is right. None of these players fill our deepest need of a back up point.

Marcus Williams' contract is not worth wavering, he is on a good deal and can play but he's just not getting the minutes.

I'd do Tucker + 2nd for Dooling in half a heartbeat. Anybody see the dunk of the night from two days ago, magnificent.

Jones sucks, really, REALLY, sucks. No, seriously, he might not be bad, but he certainly is for what we need. Why can't the C's just WAIVE that CASSELL GUY!

Jones is an undersized two, but he showed that he can at least competently play backup PG in that LAC game.

I'd take Jones. He was improving a lot in Indiana. I don't think we've seen the best of his ability yet and he'll be relatively cheap to acquire. Cassell would have been a good fit a few years ago, but I honestly don't think he has anything left in the tank.

Not a big fan of Jack either, but I'd take Dooling in 1/4th of a heartbeat.(take that lilfishi22!)
