Nash Minutes

Boy am I glad we have Terry Porter now as our coach. Finally Steve Nash is resting more and will not be worn out when the Playoffs come...

Oh, wait a second...

He is playing HALF a minute less than last year! Is that "limiting Nash minutes"?

Maybe it wasn't D'Antoni's fault if Nash was playing so much, maybe it was because the DAMN front office didn't give him a proper backup or maybe, anyway, this team needs Nash on the floor to have a chance to win.

P.S.
Sorry for the venting, I really didn't like the last loss.

I can't really blame Nash's minutes on Porter. He's been playing Nash for long stretches and doesn't know when to rest him, that's on him and it's unforgivable. But it's not his fault that we have to rely Dragic as our backup PG. I've lost hope that Kerr can get us a solid backup point guard before the deadline. I just hope that Porter can at least realize LB can play some spot minutes at the 1. Sure he isn't a 1 but Nash needs rest and LB is the best available on our bench. Dragic simply isn't ready.

I understand we can't blame Porter, just as I understood we couldn't blame D'Antoni. Not everybody did at the time though.

Can't blame Porter for Dragic's (Please Use More Appropriate Word) development, he's playing what Kerr's given him...which ain't much...DA couldn't make Barbosa a competent backup PG, dont see how Porter can/will

Why not shift Hill's responsibility a bit? I've mentioned this, but how about we put Barbosa, JRich, Hill and whoever else on the court...Barbs needs a few more minutes anyway, and have Barbie bring it up the court but then feed it through Hill as the playmaker? You then get Hill using his exceptional playmaking abilities, and you get a one-two punch with Barbie and JRich opening each other up for jumpers and cuts. Cut Nash back to 30mpg, give those 3 minutes to Barbosa...Barbie has proven that he is more effective when given more consistent minutes anyway.

The Suns should seriously push to sign Pargo if he leaves Europe this year or Delfino. Send Dragic to the D League already!

I would love to have Pargo in a Suns uniform. Evnthough, he's a scoring point and a tweener but I think the SUNS could use him. I would rather the Suns try to get Joe Smith so we can have a good 4-5 that can shoot and spread the floor when Amare is sitting.

Also we need to look not just at Nash minutes but also at what he's doing in the minutes he's playing. In the past he would have the ball in his hands for all of those 30 plus minutes in his hands. That would couse Nash to use a lot of energy amd those minutes felt like 45 minutes come April. Eventhough Nash is playing a little less minutes that he was last years. I would say that there's more post up for Shaq and even Amare. Therefor Nash become more of a spot of shooter than always creating.

Like some of you might have already said, Grant Hill should have the point guard duties when Nash is out and let Barbosa play off the ball. I do beleive that Terry Porter is finally figuering out how to play his personnal and when to play them. I like the lineup of Barbosa, Richardson, Grant Hill, Amare with Shaq. I disagree that we need another point guard, what we need is Joe Smith plain and simple.
