Marion

We should try to get marion back. He hates it in Miami and I'm sure he's realizing how good he had it here. Offer Barbosa and change.

I'm down. Marion will finish his career here, I hope.

Nash
Jrich
Marion
Amare
Shaq

WOW! That team can beat a Lakers team. Also, Hill can play PG for Nash so that's good.

I'd love it if he would come back.

Nash
Rich
Matrix
STAT
Shaq

That lineup would tear up teams like Lakers, Celtics and Spurs.
AND! AND! We'd finally have someone to actually guard the opposing SG's or PG's who torch us on a nightly basis.

No way we can make trade for Marion without giving up a big contract, right?

Only way I see this happening is signing Marion in FA - don't think this will happen either as there are better options in 2011 and we need to save cap space...so ultimately I have to disagree here, Marion will not be a Sun again unless it's much later in his career for a cheap contract

Why would they want Barbs and Wade? I think they could get someone they need more for Matrix.

Maybe they think Barbosa can play the 1 position
But really if Marion comes back then that'll be sweet.

--- You think the bad blood or residual feelings from his last while here would be forgotten. Just wondering - Shawn, at least to the public, is a personable guy but from all accounts he was a pain in the ass to be on the team with. Nothing to do with talent but the whining about his role, lack of appreciation etc. were not missed.

Now he'd be fourth or fifth in the pecking order. If he really could embrace a role where he was a rebounding/defensive player who wasn't going to light it up offensively ... it would be great to have him. Don't see how we could make the money work though - half of $17.8 mil on this year's salary and tax on top.
Consider who we could get if we were really going to spend that much money.
I think Shawn is in for a huge shock to the ego when he goes after his next contract.

Thanks but no thanks, at this point in his career i'd rather have Barbosa over Marion. In a few years, or now actually we're witnessing it already, Marion's skills are declining, his athleticism, his shooting and even his defense. A few years ago Marion was a stat sheet stuffer but this isn't the same Marion, and with the contract he will want probally 10M plus it wouldn't be worth it.

Marion
Quinn

for

JRich
Tucker
Dragic
Draft pick/cash

Don't see why MIA does it...though JRich would team with Beasley to make a nice 3/4 combo..and cant be done til Feb 10

Shaq
Amare
Marion
Barbosa
Nash
---
Hill
Barnes
Lopez
Quinn

I can't believe yall would want him AFTER hearing his comments. He has clearly degenerated into a scumbag and is doing the exact same thing in Miami that he did here. He's a cancer. He won't get any more of the spotlight here than he does here, probably less. This would be a horribly stupid move.

i don't know if marion's ego could fit back in here but i think his skill set would fit in perfectly. we would have a guy who could guard the roys and the grangers and marion fits in perfectly with this system as we have seen. i would love to get him back. also what do you guys think about larry hughes? im reading that chicago will get rid of him for pretty much anything. i think he would be a good defender for us and a nice player. he has a big contract for the next 2 years though and i don't know who we have that could work in a deal for him.

Strong words. What prompts them? Or is this another hyperbole in the same vein as "Nash is the biggest cancer in the lockerroom", another view of yours?

Glad to see you're following my opinions...come to think of it I am very emotionally invested in the team so I frequently come up with wildly strong takes, I should blog...on second thought, no.

Its actually not a hyperbole, its more an issue of something that has really bothered me in the world of the NBA lately (and to which our locker room has not been immune). And that is the pattern of these players whining about their roles, their respect, their money, their coaches and teammates. As I'm sure you remember (at least someone pays attention to my posts  ), I am studying Sports Management along with my Finance and Consulting degree and this is one of the biggest disconnects between the NBA and business as a whole. Find me one industry other than sports where you can complain publicly about your salary or responsibilities and not get fired on the spot, ya know? It really takes away from the game, and it kills me to see all of the underprivileged youth looking up to these guys and seeing these patterns in their role models. These players are undermining the authority of their coaches, managers, owners, and the league itself. Its not as fun to be a diehard fan of a team, live and die by a team, when your star players are complaining and making it seem like they don't like your team and when they don't seem to be trying their hardest because they're not happy. You can't tell me it didn't make you feel anger towards either Joe Johnson or the Suns, and either Matrix or the Suns, when these issues came up. You can't tell me you don't feel the same way when you hear Raja Bell refusing to practice or Nash, our 2 time MVP and idol, not being on board with our coach's game plan. The NBA is all about entertainment, all about the fans, and I'm rather surprised you don't agree with me but I don't want a whining baby in our locker room making this Suns team that we all live and die by just a wasteland of politics and a desert bare of ethics and pride.

Oh, and I don't recall saying Nash is the biggest cancer in the lockerroom, but if I did maybe that one is admittedly closer to a hyperbole :o I love Nash, I have a few framed pictures of him up in my apartment, and that's exactly why what he has done lately has bothered me.

I have always liked Trix, and was sad that the situation deteriorated. His skillset was a perfect match with our system, and he is not a good match with the system they are running out there. The only way I think we could add him would be to expand it and include Richardson going back out.

I know how about Marion/ Beasely for Richardson/ Barbosa....Any takers? Nah, I like Richardson, this just won't work i don't think. That lineup would be killer though to have Trix back in it. Good at every position.

People don't tend to trade first round pick rookies.

I must say I'm very confused by the notion of trading JRich for Marion.

Its time that we get over it. Marion is not the Marion of 2 years ago. Eventhought, he's exactly what the Suns need at the three spot, but he's not worth 17 mil a year or even 10 mil a yr. I think that Marion thought to highly of himself and thought that he was better than he really was. Marion was great as the third option and fourth option.

I like the makeup of this team and hopefully we continue to play like we played tonight. Go Suns!
