Robin Lopez...

Well after watching tonights game it seems like he's the opposite of everything Kerr said he would be. During the summer the Suns staff were saying he's the, "Most NBA ready player at #15" and will "bring defense, energy and hustle".
Well it doesn't seems to be the case...A ton of players picked after him are having solid seasons and contributing to there respective teams. Lopez isn't a great defender (as we saw tonight the opposing bigs from the team had there way with him). He also doesn't bring energery or hustle, he looks pretty sluggish and not mobile. This isn't just based off this game but if you saw the entire season so far.
But even before the draft alot of signs told us that, he was a poor rebounder in the pac10 (one of the smallest conferences) and also playing behind his brother, he can't shoot either and can only clean up garbage buckets basically...
There is still hope...If Lopez can put on 20 + pounds of muscle in his upper body who knows he might become the mexican version of Dwight Howard but right now the guy is looking like a bust...

Just give him some time, he definitely isn't Tragic. Lopez barely gets any playing time anymore because of foul troubles but I still believe in him. He's just a rookie that is still learning how to play in the NBA. It's only been 30+ games, we'll see later on if he can be a good center or not.

main problem, playa, we ain´t got no time. whenever shaq is sitting we got a problem that we ain´t got no one stepping up. lou played some solid stretches, but he is defintily not enough to win a championship. and barnes at the 4??? haha. nice solution.
lopez looks realy like a freakin bust. can´t score, can´t pass, can´t play defense. mh, nice pick up for the suns again. kerr is doing a great job on picking the right guys. haha.

Give Lopez some time before we judge whether he is a bust or not. He reminds me of a younger Tyson Chandler with the Bulls. They are long, can jump, offensively challenged and both are wiry strong. Unfortunately, Lopez is going to be better next year and probably is not going to be able to help us much until next year. I do like Lou Amudson, he’s a spark plug, but I think that we need to trade for Joe Smith somehow. I don’t know how and what we need to do but we need Joe Smith to be a Suns uniform.
Go get Joe Smith!!!

He might need some more time to fit in, but Speights/Hibbert/Koufos/Batum/George Hill/Chalmers/Mbah a Moute makes a pretty fuggin long list of rookies drafted after Robin who have been outplayin him so far, specially considering he's supposed to have been more NBA ready then all those players despite having less upside then most of em.

Unfortunately you are right, but all those players were also given the opportunity to play solid minutes for their teams. I said it before the draft that we should have gotten Hibbert or Batum. Hell even McGee is outplaying him out in Washington. But you also have to think that out of all those players only one of those guys is on a team with a better record then us, and that's Batum/Blazers. (correct me if im wrong, im just guessing) I haven't given up on RoLo yet because we are only just over 30 games into the season and he has only seen minutes in about 20 of them, and they were only for about 5-8 minutes because of his foul woes. But I have given up on Tragic already even though he has seen less time then RoLo this season haha. I wouldnt mind getting rid of him in a trade with Barbosa if Kerr is stupid enough to trade Barbs away right now.

Have another glass of the Kerr-Laid.
This guy (Kerr) is single handedly keeping the Suns as an Also-Ran. If Barnes had not fell into his lap, we would be calling for his head.
Please, someone, point out a good, well placed (ie. much needed fix) front orfice-al manuever Kerr'veball and whiffin-Griffin have pulled off. (keep in mind, Shaq was Miami's idea)

And the Shaq trade really wasn't a great idea at all. I think we had a better chance at a championship with Marion last year then changing up our playing style mid-season and losing in the 1st round of the playoffs. I know with Marion we could have at least made it past the 1st round.

and made the same deal in the off season.... Nobody...NOBODY wanted the Big Load, nor had the pieces to do it.
That said, I'm glad he is here

...You guys really need to relax.
Listen, I'm not a Lopez fan per se, I'm a bigger fan of Amundson ,as I'm from Vegas, went to UNLV, and Louis is one of my all-time favorites because of his work ethic and hustle.....that said, I think what Robin brings to the table is decent skill, and length/athleticism that isn't particularly common in the NBA (there's a lot of guys with his length, but few that have the cooridnation he posesses).
He'd be a Junior in college right now....some guys need time to develop. IMO, he played relatively well last night. Its easy to point to his weaknesses when you're looking for them....and I have to admit, he makes some bad decisions...but then he also made a few plays that not many players could make, especially being out of position. Imagine when he's coached longer and is in position. He'll be good, not great, but good for the Suns for a while.
Oh....and he could be a Cuban version of Dwight Howard before he's a Mexican version of him. Lopez is half Cuban, he's not Mexican. Orale

No way Get nashty, the suns had not chance with marion to win it all last year. I believe it would have been the same outcome with him here. I love Marion, but he was not going to get this team any further then we did.
I wished Brook would have dropped a few spots. Damn, I wished ATL would have missed the playoffs. He is tearing it up in NJ. However, like many said, give him time. Bigs take some time to develop and he is still relatively young. He is a project and has shown signs of a solid role player. He is not getting consistent time like the other rooks and so he is going to have an up and down time out there.
With that said, in my game summary of last nights game, we need to get a solid big if we are going to continue to sit Shaq on back to backs. RoLo should get some mins, but should get some time in the D league too to work on things down there.
If the suns want a chance to win it, then need to address the backup PG and Big position. They need it for nash, Amare (when he gets into stupid foul trouble) and shaq.

He can't shoot.
He can't rebound.
He's not athletic at all.
The problem is, all of this stuff was evident in college and yet we took him with a good draft pick anyway. He was picked because he's tall. Plain and simple. He's not an NBA basketball player.

And as far as needing another big, it's obvious that we do when Shaq isn't playing. And it's where losing Diaw really hurts. But it seems our staff likes Lopez more than Lou at times and it's just mind-bogelling.

I don't think that's true. Lopez has a lot of DNP's, and a lot of 4 minute appearances (albeit many because of foul trouble). Last night is the first game I remember where he got more than 20 minutes. I think they're just trying to give him a chance, they obviously recognize that Lou is a better current answer and they're giving him pretty consistent minutes.
