Really? - You mean 6 turnovers in 5 minutes of a third quarter is not ferocious?

Really? - You mean to tell me letting a guy score to avoid a foul and fouling a guy when he is not threat to score does not make your bones hurt?

Really? - You mean insecurity and more talk than action is not the epitome of downright frightening?

Really? - You mean drifitng through the motions until the ball is in my hands only to dribble it off my foot doesnt make the hair stand up on the back of your neck.

Come on Amare. Play smart and shut your mouth. Shaq is light years better than you this season. This season, the season you were supposed to be a monster.

I'm about tired of hearing all of the "I want to be the man, I want to be Ron Artest" crap from him. He needs to do what Shaq, Kobe, Wade, etc. have done in their careers and just freakin' take the league by the throat and make it tap out! No one is gonna give you that status. You have to take it. I watched a playoff series a few years ago, and Amare abused Tim Duncan for he entire series. He was the perfect combination of speed, power, and agility. He would go over anyone. Now, he settles for jump shots, and he doesn't seem interested in anything but scoring.

I'm tired of that crap. When I played, I busted my ass literally every time I stepped on the court. The ball was mine, no matter where it was. And I'm only 6'. With his athletic ability and physical attributes, there's no reason why he can't be the best power forward in the league. He is as physically talented as Garnette and has the fundamentals to rival Duncan. What he lacks is the heart and the plums. The Suns ought to trade Goran Dragic for a draft pick and a pair of ballz for Amare.

Amare strikes me as a guy who feels increasingly marginalized as the team becomes more and more "Shaq's team." Amare is no longer the centerpiece of the team or the go-to guy on offense. For all of Shaq's post-trade talk of "I'll play D and rebound, I don't need to score," it's Amare who's basically being asked to fill that role as the offense becomes more and more Shaq-centric. And in addition to the on-court issues, there's the fact that Amare is having trouble dealing with the prospect of going from franchise face of the team to third banana. That's a tough role to deal with -- just ask Shawn Marion.

Amare seems sad about the whole thing, and I am, too. I think the Suns need to establish a clear direction for the team. If it's Amare's team, and he's the guy you want to build around long-term, someone needs to tell Shaq to shut up about his touches and go back to making Amare the best power forward ever. (No way that happens -- Shaq will never shut up.) If it's Shaq's team, then the Suns should trade Amare now while his value is still extremely high. Because there's no way Amare will go through 2 more years of this and re-sign with the Suns in 2010. And he's still young enough and good enough that you could get several good assets for him without having to take on any bad contracts.
