Players to get rid off!!!

Post#1 » by DaDragicShow » Thu Jan 22, 2009 6:29 am

This team will never be good or atleast decent defensively, until we get rid of Amare, Nash and Barbosa.

Amare- one game might pull down 10 rebounds then disapear and only pull down 10 rebounds in the next 3 total games.

Nash- although he's good offensively, he is a big liability on defense and nearly all the point guards pass by him and then Shaq or Amare leave their man to help out and its over from there.

Barbs- I love this guy, but he makes bad decions alot and disapears in huge games( lakers, boston, and etc) and doesnt play much defense either.

I'm not saying it's going to happen this year but once we get rid of those players then we should improve better defensively and be a better all around team.

Porter should leave too, I believe.

Add Richardson and Shaq if you're talking about poor defense. The only guy who can defend in our starting lineup is Hill.

Get rid of guys JUST because they can't play D?

Let's see if the Spurs will get rid of Bowen cos he can't play O, same goes for Ben Wallace etc

Christ I'm as sick of this averageness as much as the next guy but these threads are ridiculous - trade Nash AND Amare?

I'm all for trading Barbosa for Earl Watson + a draft pick

Let's just do a fantasy draft and start over entirely.

Damn right! Lets pick up LeBron or Dwight Howard!

Speaking of which, if the Suns have the #1 pick in a fantasy draft, who would you pick? I pick Dwight Howard.
Yeah, I said it.

This squad is not going to be good defensively so we might as well focus primarily on offense. I don't agree with Mike D's no D philosophy but the team was built for offense and we don't have the pieces needed to be an elite defensive team, we can however be an offensive juggernaut but because we don't know what the focal point of the offense should be we are stuck with mediocrity.

There's a man who knows how to build a team AROUND Nash and Amare. He brought defensive mind players like Kurt Thomas and Raja Bell to complement them. He also brought in Boris Diaw, who supposed to be a 1, to take much pressure off Nash. Later we had realized he can fill in Amare's role very well. And he can play good post defense too. He also brought in 3pt gunners to help spread the floor for the Nash and Amare's pick and roll game. He found players that's perfect fit under his coach and we were contenders for a few years.

Where's that guy now?

Kerr wanted us to play like the Spurs so he brought in Porter. He traded away all our defensive minded players and he wanted us to play like the Spurs *sigh*. The roster isn't the problem. It really isn't. Nash-JRich-Hill-Amare-Shaq is one hell of an offensive starting lineup. Porter just couldn't coach. And I'm tired of his BS comments. If Kerr has any sense, he cuts his losses and gets rid of Porter, or even re-assigns him in some form. Make him mop the floor or sell beer. At least he's doing something. Just get him off the bench and away from the team.

But you know what, Sarver is no way going to eat up his contract so I guess we're stuck. Gah.

Good post. How many more embarrassing losses will it take for Kerr to realize that Porter is a moron?

The Suns have WAY too much talent to only be 6 games above .500

If Mike D was still the coach, the team would have a much better record, in my opinion.

Porter is AWFUL.

I mean, the starting line-up has four future Hall of Famers and one of the better SG's in Richardson and yet the Suns are the # 8 seed and only 6 games above .500

Unacceptable and to me, it's a result of poor coaching by Porter.

I've lost count of the amount of embarrassing losses under him.

Even Shaq said, "No more excuses."

This moron had a training camp, pre-season and we're almost at the All-Star break and this team is still underachieving.

I blame Kerr for this mess.

And I feel bad for Nash, Hill, Amare, Shaq, etc. who deserve a better coach than this moron who is currently coaching the team.

Porter might be the worst coach in the NBA.

I agree with the above two posts.

as far as players....

I think it is certain we will lose Nash next yr if Porter remains. He will privately ask out, then publicly if not served. He deserves better, let him go to Tor or NY

Shaq will drop some PR bombs on Kerr and Co. and likely be injurred for the most of the next yr, if he can't be traded. May be a buy out. .

StandAndAdmire and his ego will also groan for a new home, and if heard frequent enough, will be accomodated

Barbo's future here will depend on deals made for some one else....

Richardson and his 12mill per yr is here

Hill will take his one-more-productive-yr-in-his-body and pair up with Lebron or Kobe...atleast to a real contender

Barnes is playing his way into a smaller more affordable contract and could very well be resigned.

We keep Lou,
Tucker and Lopez are fodder, but economically accomodating
and no one will want dragic whatsoever

We can do little to add to this current line up inked for next yr... so I think it is very very likely the rebuild will begin, with the departure of Nash and Stat.

The thing is that the warning signs were all there in the preseason, we looked very out of synch and out of touch. It has continued still and if we drop to .500 I think it's best that we let Porter go before we end up in the lottery.

Four future HOF? Nash, Shaq, sure things. Amare? Not at this rate. Hill? Big iffy due to his injuries, but he's ahead of Amare in HOF talk.
