I could see some people on your snubbed list actually being voted in by the coaches. I really don't think the coaches will put Bruce Bowen in the ASG. You have Carmelo, Dirk, Roy, and Billups on your snubbed list and it's very possible that a few of those guys make it.

Only the starters are voted in by the fans.. the rest of the votes won't matter because the coaches pick the reserves.

All star weekend

Post#5 » by whambamslam » Wed Feb 4, 2009 5:53 pm

Didn't see a thread about all star weekend, but it's just over a week away. I am excited for it to be here in phoenix. I'm going to go to the NBA Jam session. Not really sure what to expect at that, but should be good. Also noticed that they announced that during all star weekend there will be a horse game.

Yeah that HORSE Game has me excited as hell. I'd love to go see that when they do it. I hear it is going to be outside? Has anyone heard that as well?

Not surprising you didn't see it since Nashty made it so damn long ago

I wanna see what the HORSE game will be like. I hope they allow "trick" shots.

Yeah I am interested to see who will be in the horse game. If it's say Kobe, Lebron, and Wade that would be awesome, but if it's 3 nobody's then not so much. Also I read no dunking in it otherwise it would just turn into a dunk contest.

Just off the top of my head, a few players I'd love to see/would be interesting to see in the horse competition:

Kevin Love - If he nails one of his full court chest-pass shots on his first attempt it would bring the house down. I know he's a pretty creative kid too...

Steve Nash - I'm sure he would pull off some ridiculous soccer type shots. I'd love to see some of the other competitors try to rainbow kick a ball without falling on their faces..

Rasheed Wallace - I just watched a clip of him shooting two basketballs at the same time, one in each hand, from three point diestance, and swishing them both. That's just craziness...

It will be interesting to see who they select. I went to the all star game the last time it was in Phoenix and it was one of the highlights of my younger years. I went to the Jam Session and the game itself with a family friend's family. Sat in a box...it was a lot of fun. Just to say you were at an all star game is reason enough to go. I wish I could go again this year...if you get to go, enjoy it! I'm sure the nightlife that weekend in PHX is going to be crazy. Hope Barkley hires a driver that night...

This x 1,000 (esp. Nash & Wallace).

I almost considered going to the thing, but I think one weekend of Suns insanity in Phoenix is enough for me for a while... Plus, I think they frisk you for money at all entrances to the city :-?

yeah i made it a little early but I was hoping to get it stickied. Nash should definitely be in the HORSE game, and Love deserves to be in this too because he is mr. trick shot. The court will only be half-court so i dont know what Love can do half-court wise.

Oh I didn't know they were limiting it to half court don't know whether I like that or not.

Kevin Durant, OJ Mayo, and Joe Johnson selected to participate in the H-O-R-S-E Competition. Players have 24 seconds to make a shot and an NBA official will determine whether the shot counts or not. Man I hope they choose Dick Bavetta to be that ref.

Add to that list:

Mikki Moore
Kenyon Martin
Nate Robinson - REALLY bothers me
Luis Scola

I don't hate Duncan. He annoys me, but the guy is a legend...And Parker I hate how he plays - mainly cos he kills us
