http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/news;_ylt=A ... &type=lgns“A lot of mouths to feed,” Nash said. “I’m willing to just feed and feed. But then they get mad at me because they want me to be aggressive. They want me to make big shots down the stretch, so they need me to shoot periodically during the game.
“It’s difficult. It’s difficult for the reasons you said, and it’s difficult to find the balance, that aggressiveness for me.”
Nash needs the ball in transition, needs to run, because Shaq clogs the lane in the halfcourt. “Or otherwise,” Nash said, “I’m going to be a little sacrificial. …So trying to get Amare off, getting, Shaq off … getting [Jason Richardson], Grant [Hill], Leandro [Barbosa]. …A lot of mouths to feed.”

That's what you consider "lashing out"? Wow. He didn't throw a single person under the bus or criticize anyone. Are you part of the media? Sensationalizing everything these days eh?

Please don't blow up the team... leave the roster how it is for the rest of the year. If the Suns don't make the playoffs, get tossed in the first round or even second round.. rebuild.
Give this team of superstars one full year with Porter. If they blow up the team right now then everything they have worked up to this point will be utterly useless and pointless.
With regards to the article, it seems Nash's just voicing out his frustration and his opinion. He doesn't seem to be knocking on anyone, it just seems that he believes that the Suns shouldn't rely on Shaq for the rest of the year. The Suns have so much talent that to just play off Shaq would be inefficient.

Lashing out? lol. Sounds to me like it's a typical mental battle for a PG who has to balance shots for himself and shots for everybody else. Amare wants the ball, Shaq wants the ball, JRich wants the ball, and then they expect Steve to take the big shots when he's had no chance to establish a rhythm. Not an easy task.

Finish the season off with the current roster (MAYBE trade Barbosa for a defensive player) and then blow the team the F up if they dont get far into the playoffs. Or let Shaq walk. The window is basically closed. Nash hates playing for Porter, STAT hates playing for Porter and Shaq is just old.
Hell, trade STAT. He will walk in 2010 anyway.

Guys, i think the problem with blowing up this team after another season is that you won't get much in return for them..regardless of whom you trade with. Teams are not that dumb to gamble their future for a one-year rental of star players, unless they're pretty sure they can resign them.

Maryvales, that was not lashing out. Are you actively trying to wish Nash out of Phoenix? You seem to have a huge dislike for him.

Mary...I swear to Jebus man...PLEASE don't just post an article and then write 'discuss'
People can read the article for themselves by clicking the same link you did (2 inches higher in the wiretap) and can think for themselves 'discuss'. You seem to do this a lot and I know it's not the first time you've manipulated the thread title

What Nash said was fair, as a raptor fan, i've watched you guys a bit and you guys are putting Steve in extremely difficult positions. There are simply too many EGOS on your team for Steve to please and be aggressive with his scoring at the same time.

anyone have a problem or something with the when he talks about getting players off.
just watching some of the suns games lately, as an outsider, he doesn't shoot much or not nearly as much as season's past, right? is it about him getting older or the addition of shaq and richardson?

Sounded more like a shot at Porter's system than anything. Like how Porter expects Nash to be dormant throughout the game and just dish out assist but just magically turn it on in the clutch. I felt it was more about Porter's expectations than his teammates expectations.

Nash is definitely frustrated but there's no reason to make the article out to be more than it is...

the best part is how Maryvales makes these (Please Use More Appropriate Word) topics and then just leaves them without every replying in them.

Nice read. A little depressing, but nice read. Stupid thread title though.
It tells alot what's been happening in the locker room right now. Kerr said trading Shaq would improve the locker room, but we aren't seeing the result. It almost seems like he is more concerned in moving up in the all-time scoring ranking than getting his teammates involved. It's ME ME ME. I still can dominate the game. I need more touches bah bah bah. And there's that big mouth Amare Stoudemire. JRich needs the ball in his hand to score as well. And just days ago Barnes had complained about not getting enough time and basically said that he's going to get the most out of his limited PT by shooting the ball whenever he touches it even if he's going to miss it. Remember he's a FA next summer.
We need to make Shaq a complementary player, like what Shawn Marion was for us and make Amare more of a focal point in the offense. I understand how great Shaq has been playing for us and like Nash said we need to feed him, but there's has to be a balance. We need to mix it up. It's great if he can average 25/10 but we're marginalizing Amare, Nash, JRich, Hill and LB. We have alot of offensive talents on our roster but we aren't using them.

I agree with this 100%.
Shaq was a solid role player in Phoenix last year averaging 13/11 on 61% shooting and that's the best role for him at this stage in his career.
Amare was All-NBA First Team in 2006-2007, averaged 40 PPG against Duncan in the 2005 playoffs, and averaged 30 PPG after the Shaq trade last year.
He's the most unstoppable big man in the NBA, yet he's become a role player in Porter's system instead of playing like the superstar that he is.
Making a 36 year old Shaq the main part of the offense is a dumb idea because he doesn't command double-teams anymore and there's ZERO movement when he has the ball.
I also agree that Shaq is becoming very selfish; I respect the fact that he is determined to prove the critics who said he was washed up were wrong, but it's hurting the rest of the team and he's the only one who doesn't seem to realize it.
He became a locker-room cancer in Miami towards the end of his time there and I'm worried the same will happen in Phoenix if things don't improve soon.
It's really a joke that a team with THIS much talent is struggling so much and it's mainly because of Porter's coaching.
He also comes off as a complete moron in his interviews; I remember watching his press conference when he was introduced as the team's new Head Coach and I thought to myself, "He doesn't sound too smart."
Many others have agreed on that and it shows in his coaching. He's a moron!
I hate to criticize him because he seems like a VERY nice guy and because I want the team to succeed, but the guy is a horrible coach based on what we've seen so far.
