Saw this on the Raps board and was curious to see your take on it.

Amare Stoudemire and Leondro Barbosa for Chris Bosh and Anthony Parker.
Is your mind melting? Anyways, the idea beginning to bubble up is that Colangelo is trying to re-form a modified version of the Suns team that apexed in 2007. The two trades would put Marion, Amare and Barbosa in a team that also had Jose Calderon. The Raptors would have to figure out just who they’d play at power-forward but the trade is interesting.

I'd love this trade if it went down but there's no way the Raptors trade Bosh for Amar'e unless Colangelo wants to give a late christmas gift to the Suns...

We can't afford to lose Barbosa without a plan B, which is to get a solid backup at the 1 unless we're planning to use Dragic 20+ mpg. We also have no use of Parker as we already have Hill, Barnes and JRich fighting for minutes.

Anthony Parker would actually be a pretty solid backup for Steve Nash, he plays hard and plays good defense.

There is no way in HELL I'm open to such a deal. Bosh is extremely over rated, and this is coming from a Toronto Raptors fan (I'm born & raised in Toronto). There is no fricking way we do this, or at least I hope not :|

I don't see how this helps us very much, if we lose Barbosa we need a player in return who can come off the bench and score in bunches.

Do it! Do it!
Bosh is smarter, a better rebounder and has been a better scorer this year. More consistent.
Anthony Parker STARTED at point guard when Calderon was out and it worked out great. Now he plays starting SG and comes back on as the BACKUP POINT GUARD.
Since he's been in this role he's averaging:
15 points 6 rebounds and 6 assists.
Plus energized defense and he hits threes at a 45% or so clip.
Definately to it. Make this one last run. Parker would be great here (guarded Devin Harris really well for long stretches today!).
Plus Bosh and Shaq would be a better fit.

I'll pull the trigger on this one asap.
Parker will solve the backup PG problems, and while he's not as explosive as barbosa, he's one of the smartest players in the league and is quite consistent.
and getting Bosh for Amare, i don't think there's a chance of getting anything closer than that.
while he's not KG on defense, at least he gives an effort on both sides, and knows how to box out.

Shouldn't this go into the trade thread? And I think this team has been shaken up enough, which is exactly why we're in the rut we're in.

woah woah calm down on the name calling bro
but on topic, we'd be giving up too much... id rather keep amare and barbo then accept what be get back. i agree makes for great gossip though.

I'd do it if i'm the Suns but only if the Raptors give up some other asset. To me Parker would have no role ( or almost no role ) in the Suns and because the team is in win now mode they need to add some kind of piece to that. Losing Barbosa would hurt the Suns but not that much imo... They have Richardson, Hill and Barnes/Dudley - and Parker ) as backups so they're fine there. Getting Ukic ( >Dragic ) or a future pick ( i'd say 2010 ) would get the deal done.
