meeting Suns players

Post#1 » by jazzy_jeff » Fri Jan 30, 2009 5:53 pm

Making my annual trip to Planet Orange to see game against Bulls. I've never had any luck in the past trying to meet players to get a photo or anything, so I was wondering if anyone has any tips pre or post game?

Best place for the general public is by the entrance/exit for the players garage. You're gonna deal with a lot of foot traffic cuz a lot of people tend to go to Alice Coopers joint across the street pre and post game.

Crawl through the ventilation ducts and search for the locker room.

Shaq and Steve would be the easiest to meet. If you're near them and yell their name, they will stop and talk to you, usually. Classy guys. Grant, too.

Marion was by far the coolest Sun to run into. He actually approached you if you ran into him in the halls before/after practice. Too bad we're not allowed in to practice anymore.

Marion was all right, but nash to me is the nicest one out of them. Some of you know I was able to hang with nash at Gonzos house 2 years ago. The dude is a cool cat. Also, I was able to go to the nash roast at Hotel valley ho over a year ago. I was able to meet marion, MD, Kerr, barbs, raja, marks, hill, banks, and diaw. I saw sarver but at the time did not want to meet him. Still don't.

Anyways, some of you old timers remember my post about this.

Good luck gettting some pics with them.

Hey guys, the players garage is in the same building as practice facility across the street for US Airways Arena?

Thanks for the tips guys. I ended up getting a chance to meet J-Rich during shootaround.

Now I head home after watching the Suns go 0-2. Feel like someone punched me in the gut -- been planning this trip for a year, and figured I'd get to see at least 1 win!
