36. Amare Stoudemire
Bruce in Phoenix recently begged me, "Can you hold off on the Trade Value column until some GM is dumb enough to offer us too much for Amare? I don't want them to know that he sucks now!" Hey, Bruce? I think they know. Why do you think you're getting so many pu-pu platter offers? It would help if Amare grabbed a rebound or switched correctly on a high screen more than twice per quarter. I still say the Amare era is salvageable -- stick the kid on a team with a good point guard (Chicago?), tell him to just worry about putting the biscuit in the basket (New York? G-State?), or trade for him and say, "We love you, you're our franchise guy" (Sacramento? Memphis? Indiana?) and I think he'd start slapping up 29-9s again. With a smile on his face.

23. Steve Nash
He's the Jennifer Aniston of the NBA: A sympathetic figure who brings a ton to the table and just wanted to have kids (or in Nash's case, win one title), only now his window is closing and he's considering the sperm donor route (or in Nash's case, a mercy trade to a contender with a better chance of winning, like Portland). By the way, Sarver is absolutely Angelina Jolie in this analogy -- he ruined everything and doesn't even feel bad about it. The Shaq trade equals the time Jennifer's wasting by dating John Mayer -- ultimately, it's a wasted year for her ovaries. Amare Stoudemire was Brad Pitt, the guy who should have made it happen and didn't. And I think Marc Stein was Us Weekly.

Simmons is a funny guy that is a good writer. Now when he tries to write about sports, I really do not care. He is a guy that mixes sports with quotes, funny hollywood stuff etc.

I just think it is funny how in less then one season people are bagging on him when last year they were talking that he is the most dominating PF in the game. Wow, such flip flops.

Lol just laughed? I almost pissed my pants. Amar'e, as frustrated I am with him, should not go anywhere. If we're so desperate to make a change, TRADE SHAQ. As much as we all want to blame Amar'e, the fact is, his success always came on the low block on offense, and when you take that away from him, of course he's going to suffer; and as we all know, with an ego like his, he's gonna try less and less on defense, leading to less rebounds. Give him the ball on offense, he'll give you something on defense. The solution is to trade Shaq, or bring him in off the bench (which wouldn't work, since we don't HAVE anyone to start at the 4 if Amar'e starts at the 5)

Speaking of Bill Simmons, he wrote an article recently about the passing of his dog that I found particularly touching. If you have a few minutes to kill, and especially if you like dogs, you should give it a read...It's very well written, and a surprising change from his usual witty/comedic style pieces.

You know, you're right. Totally right. Amare needs to feel important on offense to give u some D. It's a fact. And that's exactly why he's NEVER going to be a franchise player. Let's face it. NO team can win a ring building around him. He's not worth max money and he's a HUGE liability cause you will always need another big to cover his deficiencies. You'd never say that of Duncan or KG. Boy how I wish we had pulled the trigger on that Amare/KG trade...

I am going out on a limb here and assuming you haven't watched any Suns games in the 2008-2009 season.

That, or you are on mind altering drugs that have affected your perception of reality.

You sound like an Amare homer with no grasp on the current situation. I suggest you think before you type.
