There are several reports that indicate that Shaq would love to play for the New York Knicks. The Suns want to cut payroll and how else would you cut pay roll than with the highest pay employee. If you think that the Suns are going to be contendors, then you my friend are kidding yourself. The Suns are in the decline and need to retool and sheed some salary.

This trade so much sense I don't know why Steve Kerr is not exporing it.
Suns trade:
Shaq (21 mil)

Knicks trade;
Stephon Marbury (20 mil)

Why the knick would do it:
They need some type of enterainment while Lebron James joins their team. Who else would bring instant respectability to a franchise. Shaq is not the player he was about 5 years ago but he's definatly an entertainer. New Yorker's love to be entertainet, plus Shaq was the only one that stood up for Mike D'Antoni and proclaimed D'Antoni as being a great offensive coach. A line up of Chris Duhon, Quentin Richardson, Wilson Chandler, David Lee and Shaq would bring some stability into Mike's offensive scheme.

Why for the Suns:
cap relieve..enuf said... Plus the Suns would tell Marbury to stay far away from Phx. And let the rebuilding begin in Phx..

Like I posted in the other thread.. I just don't see the Knicks being interested in Shaq. With Marbury they can basically just get rid of him after this season and he's not taking minutes off other players. Secondly, would D'Antoni really want Shaq again? If I remember correctly, D'Antoni agreed to trade for Shaq in order to compete in the playoffs (especially againsts the Spurs). The Knicks right now aren't in competition mode nor will they be next year. They are in the cut salary and pray for Lebron to come in 2010 mode.

if zeek was still there, I could see a trade happening. I would Love to see Al Harrington on this team. wow, that would be great. I would say we have to get get Lee in the trade somehow.

I can see Walsh doing it if we take Jeffries, and I can see DAntoni putting up with Shaq for a year and a half if he can get back one of his workhorses in Barbosa. So...

Its decent... Suns add some depth, Q-Rich gets to play with Amare again, Al gets to play with J-Rich & Barnes again, so an increase in Chemistry might happen which is definitely something these guys need a spark of.

Ahhh use spellcheck! If they're going to trade Shaq for an expiring, we're basically throwing in the towel. In which case, they'd also be blowing up the whole team. I'd totally want Lee to play here. I could see him doing really well on this team.

What kind of deal is harrington looking for at end of season?
