Nope. Not at all...As soon as he backs someone down and tries to spin/put the ball on the floor it gets slapped away/he loses it...He has one spin move but it usually takes a while to get into it...

Personally I think he needs to really work on some sort of go to shot, like a baby hook...

also, a poster on the raptor board mentioned that he led the league in 'points in the paint' before, and that he gets a ton of free throw attempts
Any explanation for that? is it mostly off faceup moves?

also, new season of Flight of the Concords didn't really do it for me. At least not like the first season. Only watched two episodes though

OT: checkout suns.com, the video on Gentry and player reactions. at 9:02 Nash says "or at least have some sex" and then immediately corrects himself and says "or at least have some success". Guess Nash is thinking about sex while at practice. lol

Same. They live about 2 hours from where I'm from. Apparently they used all their original material from stand up tours in the first season, then they came back to NZ to write more but it didn't go as well as they intended...There's the odd good song in this season - Mel's one was classic last week...

Amare needs to work on his post move this off season in order to be consider a low post threat. However, he did lead the league in points in the paint but this was because of all of the pink and roll between him and Nash. One thing we can't deny about Amare is that he's wirey strong and most times he gets and 1's. The problem this season is that Shaq is clogging up the lane and Amare needs to pick and pop more than we would like to.

If the Suns want to go back to their run n gun style, Shaq needs to be traded in order for them to be successful. Amare is a great talent but there are several things that he needs to work on.

1) Defense- Amare does not have to be a shut down defendor, but he can't be a weakness either. If he can improve on his stance defensively, he can become an decent defendor.

2) Low Post scoring ( he needs a go to move)- Amare needs to work on his back to the basket moves. The problem here is that he has David Robinson upper body with Tracy McGrady lower body. If you look at the best post players, they have wide hips. Al Jefferson, Tim Duncan, Shaq and Barkely. Amare has small hips therefore he can't move people out of the way like good post players. However, Amare needs to us his quickness and leaping ability to overcome that eliment that he's lacking.

If Amare can improve in those two area's he will be mantion in the same breath as Tim Duncan, Dwight Howard and Kevin Garnett. Let us also remember that Amare is only 26 yrs old! He's going to improve and if the Suns decide to keep him and built aroud him, they are going to be in a good position in the future. ( The Suns are going to target Al Hafford when he becomes an resctricted fa)_

Amare needs spacing to operate. Take that away from him and he's marginalized. He lacks the size to consistently punish people down low. He's quite thin for the position.

He might be thin, but the dude is strong. he is like most PF in the game today. they like to face the basket more then back tot he basket. Not many true post up players anymore.

A lot of redundancy here, but I'll be the latest to chime in. Amare is a top-flight INSIDE scorer, but a bad low-post scorer. He gets his high-efficiency points off of face-up drives and screen-rolls, and he is virtually unstoppable (when motivated) in both of those areas. This leads to a crazy high FG% and tons of FT attempts, and he shoots a good FT% for a big. His back-to-the-basket game, on the other hand, is bad. Just bad. Even when a smaller guy matches up on him, he's unable to use his size & strength to his advantage. It's very rare to see Amare get off a good shot in a low-post situation, unless he faces up.

Ultimately, I think it doesn't matter how you get your points in the paint, just how many you get, but anyone who thinks you could put Amare in a Tim Duncan-like role on offense is sorely mistaken.

He is a top-flight inside scorer, whatever his method is, it works and he scores or gets to the free throw line, Duncan does it his way, Amare does it his, why would anyone want to put Amare in a Duncan role??? Would anyone want Duncan in an Amare role ????? Plain and simple, He is one of the best at what he does, score inside or go to ft line, not to mention an improved mid range jumper.....

He needs to be in position to get the first step .... after that any defender is toast.

yeah like in the all star game where he drove in from the three point line is something i dont c often [but then again all-star game] but he needs to work on trying to regain that burst he had before the surgery.

I haven't detected any change from surgery. I detected a change after Shaq and especially Porter.
