would be nice and would help us at the PF position, but I see him signing elsewhere.

The article in no way says the Suns are actually pursuing him, OKC has not indicated they are going to buy him out, and Smith has stated he is not going to seek a buyout.

Much ado about nothing...

I don't know if it's all about nothing -- the article does say Smith is a likely target.

Even if not, we can dream, can't we? I think he would be a great pick-up. Probably as good as any big man Suns could get at this point, some unknown gem flying under the D-League radar notwithstanding

I never said you couldnt dream, but dreaming = much ado about nothing. I also never said he wouldn't be a great pickup. He would be a fantastic pickup because he is a solid defender and rebounder and we dont need him scoring tons of points.

Of course Smith is a likely target. I would do the author one better and say he is the obvious target. However, there is no connection between Smith and the Suns other than Bob Young's strategic placement of Smith's name after saying the Suns have offered no specifics. What in the Suns history has indicated that Smith even if possible for the Suns to get? Our season long pursuits of tyronne lue, PJ Brown, sam cassel in previous years? We have a track record of epic fail in recruiting underperforming and partially washed up veterans.

All im saying is I can provide you with better dreams than those of Joe Smith. Nailing Puma Swede may be a more obtainable dream at this point.

---- yeah, but if you're going to dream, why dream about a jopurneyman who isn't interested in leaving his team and being bought out? If you're going to dream, dream big ...

Looks like captain obvious strikes again

The Phoenix Suns are not interested in signing Joe Smith, according to a source from the team. Smith has not been released, but may be waived by Oklahoma City.

The Suns must add a player by March 9.

Why on earth would they not be interested in signing him? As we saw today we are short on length and Joe is a way better player than someone like Simms or anyone from the D league.
