Found this article on espn and I found it extremly interesting. Anyone want to share their take on it?

Personally I agreed with almost everything he said especially about the recent financial moves, misleading numbers of attendance, and nonexistent quality officiating. I also found his take on the Sonics move and the example it sets quite frightening. The future of the league he depicts is a dark one, which I hope doesn't come into fruition.

I'm a Simmons homer so my judgement isn't totally objective.

Still I found this article VERY interesting. Let's hope he is not completely right on the economical state of the teams cause it's not looking good otherwise. We should be glad that our only problem is a cheap owner cause I think there are a handful teams in a worse situation. PHX is still a growing city and I don't think there's any chance they might move the team, something u cannot say about another 10 teams in the league.

From what Simmons said NO and Memphis won't be NBA cities for long...and I bet the Maloofs still dream about bringing the Kings to Vegas.

All in all this economic downturn might be a positive for the league, the salaries were clearly too high lately and the players, as everyone else in the US and the world, will have to settle for less money. It will make everyone more responsible and we probably won't see contracts like the one the Wiz gave to Arenas or other even more ridiculous we saw in the past.
