Robin Lopez
While I like the Phoenix Suns, they are not my home team so I do not follow them as closely as I you guys. My question to you guys is this. Do you guys want to see Robin Lopez get extended minutes, because you're itching to see his potential?
He's got great size and if he's anything like Brook, he should be a reliable player.
What type of player do you think you have in Lopez?

Re: Robin Lopez
He definately should be getting playing time along with Stromile Swift. Amundson should not get any minutes over Lopez or Swift, both of those guys are better players than Amundson. Even Alando Tucker, the Suns have all those guys on the bench and they're playing a guy big rotation minutes for a guy who was the worst player on his other team last year?
Suns should give Lopez, Swift and Tucker minutes, keep Amundson on the bench as the 12th man and practice player or just cut him from the team.

Amundson > Robin
Stro> Amundson... I'm so pissed that Gentry hasn't put a lineup with Nash and Stro out yet.
Robin is trash. How can somebody not respect a player like Amundson? Dude straight out hustles! He has no skill but just plays with a lot of heart. Gotta' respect that.

Re: Robin Lopez
As of right now Amundson>Stro>Lopez. When Stro gets back into playing shape then Stro>Amundson>Lopez. We have too many players at the 4-5 spot to give equal minutes to all players. What Gentry is doing right now is fine with me, minus the No Stro Shows. Stro or Amundson should start over Barnes at PF and let Barnes go back to SF behind Grand. Barbs and Barnes come in and shine in the 2nd unit. Alando and Dudley are hidden gems but we just cant use them because Barnes and Hill are so much better. This off season should be an entertaining one to say the least.
And Robin is NOT trash, he has had knee problems since he got drafted and hasn't fully recovered yet, and he doesn't get nearly enough playing time to be called trash. Yeah he's not Shaq and he's not Amare but he at least tries unlike a few players on this team.

Re: Robin Lopez
robin can´t even move his ass.. he´s just long, not atheltic, no offensive skills and on defense he´s too much of a rookie. so many mistakes.. hope he knows now what the nba means and works his ass off in the summer. he got something - i don´t know what, but i hope he shows that something.

Props to the great one

Re: Robin Lopez
seems like Mary does not like the two white guys on this team.
RoLo has been a disappointment this year. I did not expect much, but the dude did not bring it as a defender at all. He looked even more unauthentic then his brother. He is a backup at best.

Re: Robin Lopez
Mary...i don't know where to start with you man...(I wrote something stronger here but thought best to tone it down a little)
You make these bold and ridiculous statements with the intent to get reactions out of people. I don't know if you even watch Suns games sometimes and half the things you say I think you say just to grab attention. Nearly everyone disagrees with you which should trigger alarm bells - sometimes it's good to go with the flock...
Amundson>>Lopez, Tucker
While I agree Swift IS better than Lou (career wise/potential), you don't bench a guy like him after how he's performed this year, especially when his role is more clearly defined and he knows the system 99x better than Stro
I hope they re-sign Lou AND Swift and move Lopez - I just don't see anything in that guy. He has a massive frame and is a decent shotblocker...but so was Jim McIlvaine

If they "blow up" this team, it would be very nice to have Lou's hustle and Stro's dunks to at least make the games bearable.
I could see Lopez getting moved as part of a package, but then again it would mean having the FO admit to making a mistake... which I don't think they're ready to do yet.

On Steve Nash:

Robin and Dragic actually both looked good yesterday.
Even though they've both been disappointing so far, I still see some real potential in both of them.

What's wrong with what I said? Lopez was drafted at #15 and is a 20 year old with alot of potential (maybe the Suns shouldn't have drafted him but it is what it is) so they should be playing him. He's a solid defender, can block some shots and is a presence down by the basket, he had a few good dunks yesterday against the Cavaliers.
As for Swift, when he gets it he can be a solid bench player. His best season with the Grizzlies, he put up close to 12 points, 6 rebounds and 2 blocks with like 20 minutes of playing time.
Amundson is a journeyman and practice player, last year he was the worst player on his 76ers team and they barely played him. He didn't change or suddenly get better, he's the same guy he was with the 76ers, I guess it just seems like you have a guy with Lopez with so much talent and a guy in Swift who has proven in his career that he can play and has accomplished more than Amundson and they are both sitting on the bench when they could be helping the Suns more than Amundson.

What does race have to do with me not being a fan of Amundson or Nash?

Re: Robin Lopez
Amundson's the only guy who plays HARD every minute he's on the court. He's a BETTER fit than RoLo AND Swift at this stage in the season. He has a clearly defined role and is the obvious first big off the bench, my issue is you saying he's our 12th man...he's EARNED the right to 10-15mins per night and his numbers show it at 6 and 4 with 1 blk per post AS break
Everything I've seen from RoLo makes me think he'll be OK. But he's going to struggle with his lack of athleticism and concrete hands, as well as foul trouble. Give me Lou this year and next over RoLo any day.
Swift is a different story...Had he gotten here straight after Amare went down, then I'd be all for giving him 18-20mins off the bat. But he wasn't, and he isn't familiar with any plays - he made a nice and 1 last game, but he still looks somewhat lost - which is understandable.
I'm all for signing him to a 2-3 year deal on the cheap, and would take him over Lou/RoLo with an offseason of acclimatizing and coaching.
All playing him now would do, would get his value up most likely...Amundson is the better option now, no doubt.

Re: Robin Lopez
This thread is full of fail.
Lopez is a dud. I would use the term "Project Center," but that would be overhyping him. His ceiling is Jake Voskhul. Im more pissed at Kerr's hard on for the dud than I am Lopez' actual dudness.
Maryvale brought the thread to a whole new level of fail, and thats all im going to say about that.

Can we keep the gorilla?

Re: Robin Lopez
I'd call the Nets now and offer Lopez for Sean Williams, he's already said he wants to work out with Amare in the offseason, why not reunite the Lopez's?
And try get Dooling back too, that guy would be a decent combo guard here

Lopez misses so many easy opportunities under the basket when he gets a chance. I know he doesn't get many chances but c'mon missing 0,1,2 footers is unexcuseable. He needs to work on going up strong and dunking with 2 hands this offseason.
