Rebuilding ideas

So I'm finally coming to terms with rebuilding this team...here are my ideas. Feel free to tear to shreads, but I kind of like this direction:
- Trade Barbosa to Clippers for a pick + Camby (expiring ’10) - draft Brandon Jennings
- Trade Nash for youth (NYC for Wilson Chandler / Harrington)
- Draft another Center with our pick
- Somehow get rid of Lopez, Dragic, Amundson, and Tucker to get Baron Davis on our team
B Diddy, Jennings
J Rich, Hill
Barnes, Chandler
Amare, Harrington
Diesel, Camby, draft
‘09/’10 Phoenix Suns / revised ’07 golden state warriors
Extend Amare, let Shaq expire and sign Stephen Jackson and Tyson Chandler in ‘10

"Rebuilding" and "Baron Davis" go together like a black guy at a KKK meeting.

Give Amare and Barnes long term deals? Why the fk would we give Barnes a long tern deal? He turns the ball over on every play.
Please just stop posting. Why don't you go and shop at the dollar store in your mall.

Nash might find a home in Por/NY/Tor in one of trade: for Blake/Bayless, or Calderon + sth, or Duhon/Lee s&t.
Let Barnes go.
Then, we could take trades as fit for any other players on the team.

I don't know why anyone would want Bdiddy? The guy is never healthy and this year he was a POS on a horrible team. he did not care and is always injured. If he was healthy, yeah, I would love him on this team but he is done. Plus, you have to be crazy to want to touch that horrific contract. No attack on you, but geeze.
Suns need to look at Barnes at the right price. He has been a solid player for us, even with the TO's. shoot, this whole team has TO problems.

Suns need to be methodical with the rebuilding process. Don’t blow it up too fast, but make smart decisions when and who to trade and for what pieces. If they can do it right, the process will be shorter and less painful.
Nash. He is still a top 10 PG in this league. He has value especially to a team that needs vet leader and need that one piece to complete their team.
Shaq. The guy is still one of the best centers in the league at 37. He is old, but the dude is still huge and can get it done. He will get moved to a contender and the suns need to get the right pieces back. Timing is a big thing and I think his value will be best at next years trade deadline. But I think you need to talk to both guys out of respect to see if they want to stay or where they want to be moved. Make things peaceful as they go.
JRich, hmm, if the right team comes calling, I am find with getting rid of him.
Barbs is a valuable piece, but he like so many have huge weaknesses. His contract is nice and he is still relativity young. We should keep him because we have no youth.
I think this team has to resign Amare long term no matter what. If not, the rebuilding process will be even worse. We are talking as bad as the kings if everyone leaves. If not, you have to get a top 3 pick and a young stud and some fillers to come back.
Let Hill walk and thank him for his time and his hustle
Lou will come back. No one will want RoLo, tragic or Tuck. These guys only can be traded if they are in a package. Keep Dudley. This kid is a stud and is the perfect role player on this team. He can score, he plays D and rebounds. We need that.
Swift will walk for the money if he can find some out there.
I think the suns need to get some young pieces back in some trades. If we keep amare, build around him and his weaknesses.
Suns need to get a top pick next year. We should not just build through the draft, but get solid pieces and players to build a team. We need to have cap space so we can sign a young player top money. We need no more then two stars on this team. One reason why the 04 team did not stay together. Too many stars, same with the big 3 on this team. Having so many max players kills your inability to build a team. So, if this how we go about it, this is what your team will look like and what are needs will be
I say you put barbs at the point and bring in a playmaking SG. Yes, that is hard, but it should be a goal. One who can create his own shot, dish the ball and play D. Hmmm, I guess like a guy like JJ.
Barbs
Need a SG
Dudley
Amare
Need a defensive minded C

--- For sure, Davis is no spring chicken, injured a lot and wayyyyy too pricey with his current deal. Absolutely insane suggestion. Baffling.
Barnes is going to want more money than he's worth. He's also inconsistent as hell - when he's good, he seems like a bargain. When he's bad, you wonder how much you'd have to pay to be rid of him.

Cavs will be going after Amare not shaq.. Shaq doesnt help them keep LBJ at all. Plus they have 2 pretty nice centers even thoug Z is getting older. PF they have Ben which is pretty much done and a rookie.
I wouldnt be shocked if they offer the suns Pavs, Hickson, Ben for Amare and a filler
Pavs cuts 5 million off the cap right away and if the suns could buy out ben for a few less they could end up saving alot of money and get out of tax.
Thats if they dont get Bosh which is their number 1 target.

Okay, this is an absolutely TERRIBLE trade for the Suns. Hickson is overrated, Pavs is crap and Ben is old as hell. The Cavs don't have the pieces to get Amare.

Pavs is only in to because in a trade he is worth 6 millon but if suns cut him he counts for 1 saving them 5 million off the bat.... Yes its a bad offer but what else is out there? Kerr would rather save some money and get hickson then just lose amare in 2010. Bulls are going after Bosh and there isnt a team that has a shot to re-sign amare that needs a PF besides the cavs. Bad time to be a suns fan.......

1. Nash to NY for a s&t with Nate and W.Chandler
2. Shaq to NO for T.Chandler and Posey
3. Draft Jennings in the 1st round.
4. Trade both 2nd round picks and Tucker for a 1st rounder.
5. Use new 1st round pick for Earl Clark
6. Let Hill go back to Orlando.
7. Sign free agent Jarrett Jack
............NEW SUNS LINE-UP................
------THE FAST AND THE FURIOUS------ PG - Nate/Dragic/Jennings
SG - J-Rich/Barbossa/Jack
SF - Barnes/W.Chandler/Posey
PF - Stat/Earl Clark/Swift
C - T.Chandler/Amundson/LopezI'm also flirting with the idea of a way to pick up Gilbet Arenas. I heard someone else mention it in another thread and am kinda diggin that idea too.

That starting 5 has to be one of the lowest bball IQ lineups I've ever seen. Nate+J-Rich would be an absolutely atrocious defensive backcourt, and Nate's an undersized 2, not a PG.

21 and 8 in a loss. As you like to point out with Steve Nash, his +/- is -8. Doesn't seem like anything to write home about.

I think you guys should trade MVF, maybe for a nice washing machine... that would be a pretty good bargain there...

Weak at PG, SF, and Center. None of those centers can generate offense. Jack is not a shooting guard. Posey is good, but he's getting old and he's taken on more of a sixth man type role. He's not a guy you can rely on the carry the team. Nate is undersized and only accels in a run system. No guarantee Jennings will pan out. He has speed and handles, but he can easily get bulled around by other guards because of his size. Little offensive talent from our backup PFs.
Everything would rely on J-Rich and Amare. That would make it too easy for defenses.
