Just read an article on NBA.com by Schuhmann about how the Suns stunk it up by trading away our best defenders to go from passable defense to being atrocious.

He talked a little about the need to bring in a defense minded coach who isn't just all talk but would hold players accountable for defensive lapses. Obviously with our personel it will be tough to play good D, as acknowledged by Schuhmann, he suggested that maybe we move some moveable players to get a few guys who can acutally play defense.

Who here thinks Gentry is really our guy to lead us to the playoffs and beyond next season assuming we keep our core of Shaq, JRich, Amare, LB and Nash? If not, who's someone we could bring in?

If we keep our core, Gentry's the guy. No coach is going to turn that weak defensive cast into a good defensive unit.

unless we trade Amare, Barbosa, Richardson, & Nash then we might get a coaching change. If we keep them we keep Gentry.

I'm all for keeping Gentry in charge

I don't think we need another assistant either, unless it's Paul Silas...

As others have said, there's no point getting a defensive coach when we don't have players who CAN play D...

keep alvin. he is the right guy for this group. re-sign ama´re, let shaq and nash´s contract expire and we have a real big shot at great fa in summer of 2010.
everyone would love to play for alvin. so why are we discussing his head??
