Would you guys do this trade:
NJN get: Shaq and Robin Lopez
Suns get: Vince Carter, Yi jianlian(or Ryan Anderson), Eduardo Najera, Sean Williams and Josh Boone
??

Depends which team is asking. Hell no to Dallas unless they give us a deal not involving Dampier coming to us.

Easily. I'd rather it be Ryan Anderson though. But why would NJ do this :S?

I wouldn't give up Robin in the trade.

Im not sure if the Nets would do this trade, i dont see it happening unless you take bobby simmons instead of Carter. But i was thinking that trade on financial terms: Shaq is a big expiring contract, and the nets would be getting rid of Carter“s contract, which would put us in a better position to sign a LBJ type of player next year.

there isnt a single trade for shaq that can give us more cap relief than keeping him and letting him run off the books

so the only trades i can see happening are ones that include young talent returning

a trade involving vince coming back would have to include Jrich going over - something im not against

I don't know about Shaq but how about the Suns trade Robin Lopez for Yi Jianlian?

NO, Robin's only 20 but Yi is already 25 according to the "rumor"

A trade involving DAL or DAL & NOH can provide instant cap relief assuming we take less back.

In a trade with just DAL, we could have Stackhouse's un-guaranteed contract coming back to us. We can waive him as soon as we have the option. Howard would have to be included.

Or you could send Stackhouse to NOH and get Chandler & Howard. That's great value for O'Neal. Howard's $10mm could come off the books at the same time.

You guys ever see the movie "Face Off"?

Let's switch Brook and Robin out via an extremely complicated and technologically and biomedically impossible procdure.

I would consider that a succesful offseason...

No need for anything more complicated then cutting shears with them two.

Whats up with the NJ trades? Please, we do not that horrible contract VC has. I rather take a motivated shaq and his salary coming off the books next year. SDU got it right and I do not see the suns trading for junk. Plus, the suns have to like what they see from Shaq thus far in the offseason in his trainning.

Pass on another horrible NJ trade.

I don't see the Suns making any significant trade until mid season / trade deadline. Besides, the way Kerr-laid's poop hole is still smarting from his last few deals, I am almost believing the less they do to this roster the better. Midas touch he has not. I have seen a lot of trade proposals out there, but nothing realistically makes us any better this coming yr. (I mean a realistic deal as well). The gate receipts still govern this franchise, and if we are sniffing the playoffs, I could see no changes at all.

But.....If this team is blowing chunks come January... well then, lets light the fuse. Allow SHaq, Hill and Nash to chase a ring elsewhere. By that time, we'll HAVE to deal Shaq anyway.

How ya'll are ???

I think if there's a deal done it's on draft day and we're cleaning house if we do make moves...

Maby we should wait until say a couple weeks into the next season to talk trade for Shaq, and Amare. As much as we cringe at the thought it was confirmed that some of our beloved Suns were sandbagging during the Porter era (Nash, Amare). When Gentry took over, almost right away your star gets hurt. They would have made the playoffs if that had not happened ( missed it by 1 friggin game). Barbosa didnt join the team until late because of the death of his mom then really is struggling with the porter system until he left, and the trade, never hit a groove. The training staff just got Oneal right in the shortened season when he first got here, then back to almost allstar level this year, and mid season had to adjust to an up tempo system, now i hear he is working his huge butt off in the offseason to lean out, get quicker and more agile. I have no doubt the Shaq ( with yet another summer with our training staff and his current workout) is going to come back and be one of the better centers in the league, and you have to admit, his back up Lopez, at the end of the year under Gentry just like all of the rest of the bench ( Dragic, Dudley, Amundsun) started to look like maby they do belong in the league, unlike under Porter. Look Amare was not this bad defensivly in the past. In the past he was a presence in the middle, not a stopper, or fly swatter but he held his own. Now the million doller question is did he regress defensivly, or was it part of the Get Porter Out Movement, with supporting cast Nash, Raja, Boris. Shaq can be on this team and succeed, especially if he gets quicker. Amare is playing for a contract, i garentee you he plays D this coming year, and the bench is going to get better. Draft some players, Resighn Hill, Get rid of J Rich if possible, and lets ride with it.

All is well Tastic... Thanks for asking and hope the same.

I'd like to see a shakedown come draft day. but as long as the perogitive of our Top Brass Monkeys is to keep Teats in the Seats (the current roster does and will do that) ... I just don't see it happenning. I think alot will depend on what they do with Nash... Restructuring his deal is one of the few moves that actually could S A V E The Red Headed Stranger some dough and perhaps set the tone for the decisions to come. I say, get that done and soon.

As for The Big Expiring, he will be The Big Conspiring if he doesn't see a ring chance come January. Thats when the viable Deisel Deal rumors will hit the glow plug....

Enjoy this little lull... there's a red storm rising

....really? That lumbering side-show is going to get quicker? Even if he does, he still won't be quick enough. Our inability to guard the pick-and-roll is the single biggest tactical problem with our defense, and Shaq is physically incapable of being competent in that area.
