That's good but if they can get a good deal for Amare on the otherhand they should take it.

"Obviously you look at the financial situation. The thing that I appreciate about Robin [owner Robert Sarver] is that he's not going to do anything strictly based on finances if it's going to cripple our team and he's already made that clear," Gentry said.

Gentry, having been on this team for a number of years, should know better. Sarver's been selling off draft prospects, giving away draft picks and trading away good role players all in the name of the almighty dollar.

I do hope he doesn't get traded, I want to see what a healthy Suns team would be like under Gentry.

That was probably him saying the right thing in public so his boss doesn't regret the decision to resign him as head coach. He would have to be blind not to recognise the key money mistakes Sarver has made with this team so far, selling away plenty of potential youth.

Its good to hear that Amare's a little bit safer in a Suns uniform for next season. Obviously, I don't want to see him leave either, but you have to think that with this being said, plus the fact that after his eye injury other teams may be a little bit skeptical about acquiring him, we should have Amare in uniform at the start of the season.

Well that's a sign that Amar'e should be staying. Hope GHill & Nash stay as well making Shaq the only piece I'm willing to trade only if it's going to improve us not just save us money.

Butler, Blatche and the Pick looks good to me...We cover 3 positions for one, with a legitimate shot at Griffin.

We'll find out on Tuesday what pick WAS ends up with.

Were talking about blatche,Thomas,James and pick

If the pick was Griff I'd do it. Other than blatche those are expiring.

Lol

They won't trade the pick if they get #1. Griffin has the potential to be a whole lot better than Stoudemire.

^Seriously? you think he can be All NBA, perennial All Star and drop 37 and 16 on the best defensive team led by the best defensive big of the 2000s (Duncan) in his early 20s?

He's good, no doubt...but yeah...I don't see him getting to the level of Amare

Now, obviously if I got the the #1 I wouldn't trade it for Amare because of age/salary/injury etc, but to say "a whole lot better" is ludicrous

Griffin is already a better defensive player than Stoudemire. That alone puts him at an advantage and possibly on the path of being better than Stoudemire altogether.

You should be more concerned about Bynum getting that huge contract and not living up to it than Griffin or Stoudemire.

Let's just wait til he plays 1 minute of professional basketball. As it stands now, he shouldn't be put in the same sentence as Stoudemire

And to say he's a better defensive player NOW is a bit overboard, he's been playing against inferior players both skill wise and size wise...

You make it sound like Griffin is on his way to being the next Duncan or Garnett. I'd say a player of Bosh or Amare's caliber is probably his ceiling. And IIRC, wasn't Amare also praised for his defense heading into the draft? I wouldn't believe everything you hear until you see it happen.

Is Robin a nickname for Robert Sarver? Or did Gentry really just call his boss by the wrong name?

Amare couldn't land you the #1 pick.

The #1 pick has potential to be a franchise player and is locked into a longterm (4 years) reasonable contract. Amare is going to want 6 years $120+ million from whatever team he signs with.

That's a huge huge difference in itself.

Maybe you meant a whole lot better than Gred Oden who is already 3times the defender Amare is? :D
