Amare to the Wizards? (article)

According to a an article from hoopsworld...
http://www.hoopsworld.com/Story.asp?story_id=12822Over the weekend we saw reports that the Suns might send Amar'e Stoudemire - yes, here we go with Stoudemire trade rumors again - to the Washington Wizards for Antawn Jamison, the expiring contract of Mike James, and the #5 pick in the 2009 NBA Draft.
At the end of the day, despite what they're saying publicly, expect the Suns to shed one of their Big Three this summer. Sarver needs more than a vanity plate, and he certainly has to stop bleeding money the way the Suns did this season. They'll make a move that keeps them competitive and keeps them in the chase for a deep playoff run, but they'll make a move. Count on it.
Would be a pretty good deal if it happened anyway, also it sounds like if Amare isn't traded either Shaq or Nash will be.

Not a bad trade at all...Especially if we try to move up to get Rubio...I really think that we should make that our priority if we get a high draft pick. Maybe we can package our own 14th and the 5th to get Rubio with the 3rd or 2nd...

From what I understand, Rubio's buyout situation is even worse than Dragic's was. Any team that get's him will likely let him stay overseas for one more year. That would pretty much leave us with Jamison coming back in that trade... I still think Jamison can produce, but Stoudemire >>>>> Jamison so that's tough.

I thought I heard the price tag on Rubio's buyout goes up next yr, so they're gonna look to get him out of the deal this yr. He wouldn't be stashed over there for a yr.
If we did do this deal and wanted to get Rubio, we'd make a deal with the Thunder to take him at 3, and we'd take Harden at 5 (who they really want apparently) and swap from there without giving up 14. There are no "trade ups", teams just swap, maybe add in extra stuff but not another lotto pick. I'm not sure we'd target Rubio though.
I'm liking a deal with Washington more and more, but it's all been rumor so far. But we do need to get a high pick included if we trade him, and they can provide it. Though I'd still prefer a Chandler-Shaq swap and keep him.

If we do that deal then here's a thought. We can send shaq to chicago for deng and fillers and package the number 5 and this years 2nd( or something similar) to move up and get thabeet. Take BPA with #14 and we've got a quick lineup and we solved the lack of defense because we'd have a shot blocking agile 7 footer.

I don't see OKC passing on Thabeet...he fits their needs pefect - a young, defensive BIG C...
The difference after the first 3 players is not a 40s pick...

I think this is a GREAT trade if they're willing to take on J-Rich for say Stevenson + Haywood + Songaila or something. Ofcourse, I'd still want Shaq + Tucker gone for Tyson + Posey + NOH Pick (21st) Draft Jordan Hill with the 5th, T-Will with the 14th, and whoever of Teague/Holiday/Collison and resign Hill, and we're set.
Nash/Teague/Dragic
Stevenson/Barbosa/Wiliams
Hill/Posey/Dudley
Jamison/Amundson/Songaila
Chandler/Haywood/Amundson
Pretty damn deep team. We probably wouldn't keep Songaila/Dragic/Dudley active, depending on how Williams is performing..

A deep team that's not going very far right away . That's too many deals though. We're keeping one of Shaq/Amare, and Jrich might be hard to move. Also, I'd doubt we'd get NO's 21st pick included with Chandler for Shaq. Maybe Posey, but it might just be a filler that gets thrown in.
Something I've been thinking about, I like this deal with Wash, but would Kerr/Sarver really take on Jamison's deal? I wonder if we'd ask for Butler+filler/5th pick instead. With the 5th take Hill, even though I'm not too high on him, but we'd need a PF. Maybe Wash doesn't do it though.

Wash wouldn't do it for sure. Also, NO would gladly give up that pick to save the 14 mil this year + get rid of Poseys contract. They really don't need Posey the way Butler / Brown have been playing + they still have Wright to play SF/PF.

Yeah, we're not giving you guys Butler.
Jamison + 5th pick + Mike James (who has an expiring contract by the way) for Amare makes a ton of sense for both teams.

How about a future number 1

how about Amare Stoudemire for the number two pick? Phoenix wouldn't have to take back any contracts.

ruiner...
if OKH wanted Harden they'll get him at 3.. why would they draft Rubio and then let Suns draft Harden and trade without additions?
Might as well swap picks. And Harden might go at 4 so why risk it?
And all these BIG trades are ridiculous..
All benefitting the SUNS, 29 other teams are trying to get better too and getting low-balled isnt a priority I think.... Kerr and Sarver if anything will be the ones getting low-balled because Suns want to cut cost down BIG time.

aaaah, didn't you post some HUGE trades as well? ^
The only likely deals even being talked about are Amare to WAS for Jamison, James and #5; Shaq to CLE for spare parts + trash; Shaq to CHI for Deng + Timmy + JJ...
And there's bound to be one nobody's really thought about...It'll shock me just like the day I heard the Marbury for Kidd deal...just about killed my sister that day when she told me it...

.
I'm sure there would be something. It just wouldn't be the 14th pick. The Kings don't need a 2 guard in Harden with Martin there. If we moved up anyone at 5, I think it'd be for Thabeet. But right now, we don't own it, so it's all moot.

About rubio's buyout.
It's bigger than Dragic, but remember that as a #2-#4 pick he receives a large contract from day 1...
somthing like 15M in guaranteed money, so he'll have all the reasons to pay for the buyout.

i'm not thrilled by that Wizards trade.
Jamison is a decent player, but he's 32, and in this weak draft this #5 isn't that good...
so we don't really get younger with this trade, and we don't really get better with it.
i'll pass.
unless it's Butler and #5, or if we manage to combine #5,#14 to get Rubio with Jamison.

why would OKC draft Rubio at 3 and trade him down to 5 for Harden or Thabeet for nothin?
