Suns Dreams: A Trip into the Minds of the Fans

Do you guys ever have dreams about the Phoenix Suns?

I have one that comes up really pretty regularly, about every few months (depending on how much I've got the Suns on the brain). It is almost always the same situation: In the Paul Shirley/Pat Burke style, I've managed to become the very tail end of the bench on the team, or somehow am part of the player organization. I practice with them, have conversations and whatnot, sometimes make 3's from Mace's spot on the practice court, but am constantly trying to hide the fact that I am way out of shape, and generally utterly mediocre at basketball (the DP'09 crew can attest). But just good enough that I can shoot an unguarded jump shot so I can sort-of fake it. Or I'll spend the whole time trying to hide that I am not actually part of the team but have been hanging out there for so long people assume I am.

Amusingly, it always used to be Mike D trying to get my ass kicked out, and I'd find a way to hang out with Nash or Hill who'd stick up for me. Amare just didn't have any respect. Last night, Gentry seemed just amused and didn't mind me since he didn't have to pay a salary (although Steve Nash mistook this for meaning that I was independently wealthy and I woke up trying to decide whether or not to tell a bald-faced lie to Steve Nash).

It used to be back in high school I'd have the usual teenage stress-related dreams like going to school without your pants or falling or whatever. Since around 2003, this dream happens pretty often instead. I would cite it as a vaaaaaaast improvement, but I wonder if you guys have a category of Suns dreams.

And uh, feel free to censor.

If i would have a dream about a sports team, i would seriously consider not watching sports.

Unless its the Lingerie Bowl.

Most of my suns dreams start out good but end in nightmarish early exits...or not making them at all

It's funny you brought this up because I actually had a dream two days ago. It was about the NBA draft, I was sitting on my couch watching the NBA draft and than Dave Stern comes out and says we have a trade, than he announces the Suns traded up in the draft, It was like into the top 10. Than the dream forwards to later and he comes out again and says we have another trade, some team traded up in the top 10 and it was one pick before the Suns traded up. The dream fast forwards again and it was time for the team before the Suns who traded up to pick and than the dream ends...

The only time I have sports dreams, I'm throwing a ball or shooting a ball but instead of going forward, it goes backwards.

Probably speaks to me constantly looking at the past.

Doesn't Kramer do a similar thing in an episode of Seinfeld? Brandt-Leyland or something?
