An NBA executive told the Boston Globe today that the Minnesota Timberwolves is working a deal with the Phoenix Suns that would send former Celtics forward Al Jefferson and their sixth pick in next week's NBA Draft for All-Star Amare Stoudemire.

The Suns, which have dangled Stoudemire for some time, fiound a suitor in Minnesota that is in transition. The team announced today that coach Kevin McHale has ended his 15-year association with the team. New basketball of operations David Kahn is looking to take the franchise into another direction.

ugh how is that a good trade for the suns jeff is coming off a major knee injury so who knows how good he will be and then with the 6th pick theres no telling who will be available at that spot.

You're joking right? Jefferson is younger and nearly as good as Stoudemire and has less injury concerns. He's far ahead of schedule on his knee and will be back by training camp. No way we do this as the Wolves. This has to be bullcrap.

IMO it would make more sense from Minn's perspective to do a Jefferson & 6th pick for Amare and our 14th. Amare isn't much better than Jefferson.

Here's my take.

Jeff is due 60m or so. Love is on a rookie contract and his the same skill set and is a big time rebounder

Amare and love is a better tandem for minny.

And if it don't work out they are free of Jeffs contract and still have Love on the cheap.

I do think more pieces would be involved though.

Maybe it's leading up to another deal...Shaq to CHI for Deng + Ty + TT....doooo it!

as much as amare is my favorite player al jefferson is better. the guy is a beast!!!! he always works us whenever we play minni. id do it straight up if possible. amares ego is getting way to be and big al is never in the news about anything. please do this trade!!!!!!!!!!!1

if some how we could do that trade and steal Tyrus from the bulls in a deal for shaq and #14
