Ever.
News (more appropriately gossip and fear mongering) rule this society. It's terrible. I can't switch on the news without hearing about some poor mother who was stabbed several times, or someone's apartment that burned down, or that Lindsay Lohan has checked back into rehab.
It adds no value to anyones life. No one is better off for knowing any of the aforementioned. It fails to give people a model with which to live their lives by, instead it gives folks an easily surpassable benchmark that propagates a false sense of success.
"Oh, well this is Lindsay's third stint in rehab and I've only been twice."
"John & Kate are seperating? Well my marriage sucks, but it's not that bad... and they made millions off that show and couldn't stay together."
Set your expectations higher. Read about people like Paul Newman. Pull yourself up by using good examples, don't prop yourself up by comparing yourself to bad examples.
I'm out.

Really lost all interest in it
