I don't think the 7th pick, whoever it is, will be better than Amare will be throughout the next year or 2... I'd rather keep Amare

Anyone Think we could package the 14th and the 7th pick for Rubio if the GSW trade goes down?

Guess, I'll post this here too..

POSTED: June 25 -- 4:09 p.m. ET

Marc Stein: The Warriors' interest in Amare Stoudemire stretches back to February, when Phoenix first made Amare available. The Suns also like the idea of Golden State as a trading partner if they decide to go all the way with their Shaq-sized clearout and part with Amare, too.

However ...

One of my best sources on the subject tells me that any deal that potentially lands Stoudemire in Oakland would be "complicated," if you want to boil it down to one word.

The implication is that it would be too complicated to get such a deal done tonight and involve the No. 7 pick.

A comprehensive medical evaluation of Stoudemire's eye and microfracture-repaired knee is just one of the hurdles, I'm told. The Warriors would also need some assurances or at least strong hints that they can re-sign Amare next summer or hammer out an extension with him before he ever gets to free agency.

So it's difficult to see how such a deal could go down in conjunction with the draft, in spite of genuine Suns interest in the likes of Andris Biedrins and the closest thing to an untouchable on the Warriors' roster: Anthony Randolph.

Bottom line: I've been reasonably assured that Golden State will be picking for Golden State at No. 7 in tonight's first round ... unless some other unforseen deal materializes.

I've also been warned by another Suns expert not to be surprised if they hang on to Amare and restore him to No. 1 option status under new coach Alvin Gentry, since Stoudemire flourishes in the up-tempo style Gentry has brought back and barely got a chance to play for Gentry because of the eye injury.

The problem there, of course, is that Stoudemire could leave them with nothing as a 2010 free agent, which is why the Suns will continue to explore their Amare trade options.

"A comprehensive medical evaluation of Stoudemire's eye and microfracture-repaired knee is just one of the hurdles, I'm told."

His medical records are up todate and they can just call his eye doctor. Lame excuse.

Biedrin's BYC is the complication.

Actually, in such a deal, Biedrins BYC is not affecting anything. I tried on ESPN Trade Checker, and basically, Biedrins + Wright + Buike + 7th + 2.5mil Cash for Amar'e works financially. If the W's were not interested in sending that 2.5mil, and Suns were somehow ready to take on Maggette / Jackson, They could take out Wright + Cash and replace with Randolph + Jackson/Maggette, although I believe both teams would rather do it with the cash.

So basically, after this trade, Suns could buy out Wallace for like 8mil, 3 of which would come through the trades. They cut Sasha, which leaves the team as:

Nash/Dragic
JRich/Barbosa
Buike/Dudley
Wright/Amundson
Biedrins/Lopez

That's a damn good team still, and that's not even with the 7th + 14th. Basically, Suns would be on their way if this trade was made.

I personally wouldn't mind Beans/Wright/Bellineli and switching picks 8 for 11 for amare. :P

As long as we get to keep Randolph/Tay... I would have love to have dumped Mags contract .

If that's the deal, I'm hoping the Chandler deal goes through. Kerr has no balls to demand Randolph. GS don't wanna trade him, move on and keep Amare.

Doesnt match up salary wise. That leaves 4.5 million more that GS has to dump on us. Turiaf makes 4.5 mill, but i dont see GS getting rid of both of their centers.

I'd pull the trigger now... with No.7 + Biedrins + Wright + Bellineli (Azuibuike)

Randolph is a KEY for them, they'll re-think everything if Kerr asks for him.

I say run with that trade...

Stoudemire as No.1 option on that team should be good enough to re-sign. Also they run an uptempo game, have enough support to contend.

Stoudemire + Ellis + Randolph + Jackson + Magette.

Thats there starting 5.. lol.

Suns then become the, Warriors... except with a less defensive but smarter point guard.
