Hey guys,

I was just thinking about what type of reception Shaq will get when he returns to Phoenix as a member of the Cavaliers.

Will the fans cheer him for playing very well for Phoenix, or will some boo him because some feel his arrival destroyed the Suns?

What type of reception do you think he will get?

he better get nothing but respect when hes announced....

but when the game starts he should be treated like a person who plays for another team.

he did all he can do for the suns, carried the team almost into the playoffs, he should get standing ovations. but after the game we all should move on.

i used to hate shaq, mostly due to my laker hate... but i love the guy and think the league needs more guys that enjoy their job and have personality.

i think the fans will give him a standing o, but it'll be interesting to see how the org handles it. when marion came back they didn't do anything special and cut off the fans when they started to cheer his name in the starting lineup. sarver is absolutely classless.

This one's up to Shaq.

If he throws his ex-teammates and Gentry under the bus, he'll get booed.
If not, he won't.

I agree. Shaq deserves a standing O. He came to Phoenix pumped up and ready to play. He even changed his game to fit around our system, played good defense and turned himself into a role player to fit our needs. In big games, he stepped up and never stopped working his ass off.

Shaq should be given a warm welcome (unless he throws everyone under the bus).

exactly what BBF said, it's entirely up to him. He gets booed in orlando I assume? MIA and LAL he would hear more cheers though for sure I'd imagine

I think all of the fans should stand up at the arena, hold up their hands, point to their ring fingers with bewildered looks on their faces. Make sure to get plenty of shots of it on the Jumbotron too lol

^It's hard to say with the LA crowd. I live in Socal with a buttload of Lakers fans. The majority of them are ingrates, and refuse to give him credit for the championships he brought to LA. Many more hate him because of his indifference with Kobe and have that good riddance mentality, yet when they cite ego as their #1 reason for not liking Shaq, they have no problems looking past Kobe's ego and melodramaticism.

I think he'll get a deserved warm reception -- unless he starts dissing the Suns, which given his track record, is quite possible

I agree that Shaq deserves a nice reception when he returns because he was the team's best player last year and he was terrific.

Unfortunately, he will probably rip the Suns soon because he rips every team he leaves.

Let's just hope he doesn't do that.

He will get a warm welcome. to this point, he has not trashed this city, the team in anyway. I expect something, but I hope he just moves on and hope he wins another championship. It was fun while it lasted.

I think the fact that he confirmed yesterday that he turned down a trade to Portland at the trade deadline will make it all the more likely that he will get a good reception when he returns because it shows he wanted to stay in Phoenix.

But it's probably just a matter of time before he starts bad-mouthing the organization...

yah i dont get the 'standing O' thing. cant imagine suns fans blaming him for the team's demise tho. shaq played hard.
