That means Ariza is most likely gone and the Lakers will miss his defense, if anything this made the Lakers worse considering Artest is a headcase and all.

Ariza will go to Cleveland.
Odom will stay in LA.

I'd have to disagree with everything you've said here. Artest's defense is comparable if not better than Ariza's despite the age difference and Artest hasn't gotten into trouble for years. This is a good move by the Lakers if they know they can't keep Ariza and Odom. Artest also looks like he's finally in it to win it and would probably sign for less than his market value.

I'd love to see ORL say bye to Turk, re-sign Gortat and get Ariza at half Turk's cost...

+1. Carter does what Turk does without sacrificing front court rebounding.

artest is still a better defender than ariza but ariza has some defensive qualities that artest doesnt have, which the lakers will miss.

if la signs artest and keeps odom, this will have been a very good off season for them.

If Odom AND Ariza are gone, I think it's a big deal and somewhat kills the impact of the Artest signing.

TYhey can't sign odom. Artest will take some or all of the MLE. Odom isn't going to sign for $2-3 million.

C'mon please sign Ariza Kerr! He is essential, long, young and can only get better

The Suns have the opportunity of a life time.. they need to go after Ariza ASAP!!! Ariza is Marion..
Ariza is athletic, can defend, can rebound, is a better shooter from 3 point and unlike Marion, he doesn't disapper in the clutch!! Kerr GIVE HIM 7 MIL A YEAR!!! Sorry, I'm just very excited to see that Ariza can be had for a cheaper price than we had Marion..

Nash/Goran
Richardson/Barbosa
Ariza/Dudley/Clark
Amare/Lou/Clark
Chandler/Lopes/Amare

That's as good as 2004!!

If I were Kerr, I'd call Cupcakes and offer Pavlovic's contract in a S&T for Ariza.

Return to Phoenix Suns
