OT: Which song should my band cover?

Ok, so my band has put it to our fans to decide which song we should cover. We each chose a song we wanted to cover and made a poll. If you guys could, vote for which song you would like to see be covered at our next concert (obviously I know most if not all of you will not be there to see it, but it's all good). The songs that are not rock songs will be arranged with a hard rock style.

Just let us know, we're trying to make a decision by Tuesday.

Going to be honest...I'm not overly enthralled by any of those songs...Cumbersome I guess

I will have to agree with Tastic. None of those songs are very good. Depending on how good your band members are, there are a ton of better songs to cover. When I was playing in a band, many years ago, picking covers songs became an art with in itself. I always liked Fortunate Son by CCR.

I'd say pick an MJ song, it's timely and his songs have been covered very successfully in the past (billy jean by chris cornell and smooth criminal by Alien Ant Farm).

Not really sure which one to pick without hearing the singers vocal range/style though.

I think Machine Head is a good song, probably tough to cover though. To me a great cover needs to re-interpret the song and add something to it you haven't heard in it before, tough to do with this song in my opinion.

Of these songs, the hardest one to make into a hard rock song would be the pat benatar one, but I think we're more than capable of covering any of these songs... except Billy Joel... I'm gonna kill my bassist for picking that one...

Hey, normally I dont care for local little bands...But I decided I would go to your myspace and I must say, im very impressed. Sound a lot like Smile Empty Soul. Very good.
