Grant Hill updates / status

Post#1 » by 13-32 » Mon Jul 6, 2009 4:09 am

What a warrior this guy was for the Suns

It's a shame he only got to play 5 playoff games with us. I hope he wins it all in Boston

Well, haven't seen any news of this just yet, but if that's true, Boston's gonna be one loaded team next year, since they just got 'Sheed, too.

IHG reported this a few days ago. I just assumed it wasn't going down since they signed Sheed.

Hill to the Celtics is anything but a lock. He's supposed to visit NY tomorrow.

I hope somewhere in the midst of all of this, the Suns are showing him some love

If Hill leaves, we are definately in rebuild mode.

Yeah, Kerr probably told him that when he met with him and to go look for a contender

not really....

if STAT is traded that a definate REBUILD MODE move, i'm guessing Kerr and sarver are trying to take one more shot at contending... i think kerr is holding up the chandler trade cuz he's waiting to see if STAT and Nash are willing to sign extensions. then he makes the move for chandler. if stat and nash are unwilling to sign extensions then we'll be in rebuild mode

How does that make any sense? It's not like Hill was our franchise player. He was a very nice player for us and was possibly the best player for us this past season. But losing him does not make or break our season. If we are able to resign/keep Amare, and at very least pick up Nash's team option then we are still primed for atleast a decent year. We get Chandler, try and either convince Sessions to come over, or possibly do a S&T for him, or go after a Anthony Parker or Anthony Carter type and then try and sign a backup big. We are golden.

Sure sounds like a lot, but it should be that hard to land a couple ok backups if we have a starting 5 of Chandler,Amare,Clark,Jrich,Nash (Or potentially go small in Gentry's SSOL chance and put Jrich,LB,Nash)

Bottom line , it sucks to lose Hill. Would of been great to keep him, but if this news is true and he is going to Boston then more power to him. If there was ONE player in this league that deserves success it's him.
