Doesn't surprise me at all. I'm sure he'll be a rotation player for us.

I think I read something about the Suns being able to use him for half a year and still being able to waive him at some point and still take advantage of his buyout.

Might not be the right thread, but, grizzlies renounced the rights to Chris Mihm, Darius Miles and Mike Wilks....

The luxury tax isn't calculated until around halfway through the season. That being said, most players general have rules written into their contract where if they are played x number of games throughout the season, the ability to waive goes away.

Dampier, for example, can be waived the following season unless he's played more than x number of games.

If we lose G-Hill, Pavs would be a good alternative at the 3... no?

I think IHG will be right on this one cuz it looks like G Hill is going to NY according to Jason Kidd:
PG: Nash, Dragic
SG: J-Rich, Barbosa, Tucker
SF: Pavs, Dudley
PF: Frye, Clark, Lou
C: Amare, Lopez = 7th or 8th seed at best...

Or don't sign Frye and trade J-Rich to save $ and pick-up D Lee. Without signing G Hill also we might be able to afford it if D Lee can be persuaded to take less $

This makes good business sense as the Suns can use both pavlovic and wallace to make - one, maybe two trades if they use the contracts right.

And as was stated, they have plenty of time to waive him if need be to save the cap. I am sure there are teams looking to dump salary that would be more then happy to take on these two contracts - besides the Hornets.

So, hopefully the Suns use Pavlovic and Wallace to get back good players, draft choices, whatever to improve the team

Could also signal that JRich had been salary dumped

So we made no effor to keep G Hill because of money but we're willing to keep Pavlovic even though he has a nice buyout?

The next good thing the front office does right this offseason will be the first...

Coro said we probably won't waive him until later on in the season b/c we still get the savings even after he's played w/ us for a while

WTF? Because Hill is leaving so they have to keep Pavlovic? What's the point of the Shaq trade then? I don't understand this FO. Pavlovic isn't worth $5M, we should either look to trade him to a team looking to cut payroll for a better player, or just cut him and use the money on someone else. What a joke. This FO never has a plan and stick with it. They aren't thinking and planning, they're just reacting to what happened to them at the moment. I can't believe this...

I'd rather give Hill $5M than Sasha freakin' Pavlovic...

I don't understand why we made the deal with CLE....

We traded an All-Star with a PER of over 20 and a FG% of over 60% for what I thought was financial flexibility.... to do what? Keep both?

WhAt !n tH3 HeLl!?

^my brain is on fire right now.... make it stop.

The money we would save by buying out Wallace would enable us to justify using our MLE. But no.

Waiving Pavlovic would provide instant flexibility and further reinforce our use of the MLE. But no.

Yeah, if the Suns don't end up using Wallace and Pavlovic for money savings, I am going to want to kick something.

they will look to trade him IMO. I think think it is funny that people are following his twitter page. He will be shut down soon I think.

to me it shows that wallace may retire and not be traded - thats the only way we could keep pav and stay under the lux tax limit

and i highly doubt we keep him at that cost unless we are under the tax threshold
