Barbosa or Richardson potentially to be traded...

Team's been shopping Jrich. They don't want to trade Wallace, they want to buy him out.... they still are looking towards potentially getting a big.
Barbosa instead of Jrich has come up because there considerable more interest in him. Where crickets are chirping for Richardson.
That said I've been quiet all week despite hearing a few things. Since I'm leaving on vacation tonight for two weeks I'll post one or two now.
Nash isn't close to an extension as reported. Agent is miffed at the offer.
There is concern about Amare's eye that's growing and being discussed but I'm not sure if that is speculation inside the office or there is something to it.

Let's hope it will not come down to using LB's contract to dump JRich's...
Kerr,
DUMP JRICH!
That's your plan.
Please stick with it.
Sincerely

LB has huge value, a lot of teams want him. He might be the worst defensive player in the league but he's our 6th man and instant offense also a great penetrator and finsher. We should only trade him if the deal is incredible... They can trade J-Rich for expiring contracts for all i care

is this the same IHG who said he would be traded this offseason?
Jrich would be being offered everywhere for expiring deals etc (boozer, simmons etc) and teams would in turn be asking for barbosa instead
im sure the suns know how valuable barbs is to us with that great contract (cough ben gordon cough) so no doubt if its money were after, then Jrich is priority one on the block
thanks for the info traxxe

LB is one of those guys where because of his contract, you're never going to get equal value. And if they trade him, I think you can pretty much kiss goodbye any chance of Nash extending. Why is his agent "miffed" at the offer? Boggles my mind.

Totally right - the value for LB will not be as good as the contract
I don't mind buying out either Sasha or Wallace - but one of those contracts could be used for value
I am thinking Sasha for a Bruce Bowen type contract - the Bucks get immediate savings from the buyout of Sasha - Suns get a player with one year left on his deal.
Granted, they could include Sasha with J-Rich or LB to get more dollars coming back too

Lol @ Bruce Bowen. He would get shot if he came to Phoenix.
I'm not sure if the Bucks are shopping Michael Redd but it would be nice to trade Jason Richardson and Sasha Pavlovic for him.

I don't want to trade Barbosa. If we do though we better get a good young big, maybe like thaddeous young or something. I know he's a sf/pf but centers are hard to find.

I heard the 2 year 22 millions was scoffed at. That an extra year is in the deal and that it will be a bit more money. Least that is what the agent wants. Waiting on the Suns to follow through. Nash was miffed at the first offer. They countered with a three year deal and negotiating from there.
I heard this two days ago so maybe they are closer now.
LB is not done but they are exploring options because Jrich isn't a hot item on the market.

Right now I'm 50/50 on ordering League Pass for next season. If Barbosa is gone, I prob will become a Blazers fan for 2009...

The longer this plays out, the more it feels like Nash just wants to see how the year plays out and go into next year as an UFA. Can't really blame him. Who knows what this team looks like in a year, and you have to think he would jump at the chance to play with New York for the midlevel if LeBron goes there. It would kill a lot of fans to see Nash leave, but we just can't make a commitment to pay a 38-year-old declining point guard 10-12 million. It would be the dumbest thing this front office has done to date.
J Rich isn't going anywhere if he hasn't already. Basketball wise, Houston makes some sense, Dallas makes sense. Dollar-wise, trading for JRich makes zero sense for anybody and it's just not worth it at this juncture, maybe towards the trading deadline we'll have more options. And maybe I'm in the minority but I want to see the dude play a full season of SSOL with us.

What teams out there NEED a starting/6th man SG?
I wonder who we have our eye on, because he must be good if we are looking at giving up a sure thing in Barbosa.

I only used Bruce Bowen as an example - meaning a player on the last year of his contract who makes approx. what Pavlovic makes and would add more value to the team and the team receiving Pavlovic gets $3m plus in savings.
You do have to admit, Bowen could play better defense then anybody on the roster today - though I agree, he would be shot

Lol, I know you were using him as an example, I just don't respect the guy. I don't think anyone in Phoenix likes him either, especially Amare...
